Sometimes you get the urge for some greasy, salty, and unhealthy fried chicken. That’s what happened last night.
Before, there was only KFC nearby to satisfy that urge. But now there’s a new competitor in West Haverstraw – Popeyes.
My wife and I decided to go there instead of KFC. After we arrived and parked, we looked through the windows. Bright, airy, and clean, but no customers. Oh, oh. Did we come to a place with bad reviews or health code violations? We were here already and HUNGRY. So we took a chance and went in.
And we were glad we did. The person behind the counter was friendly, patient, and helpful. Explained what was on the menu and assisted us with choosing and ordering.
We took a table and waited. After five minutes the order was ready. With drooling mouths we bit into the chicken. My wife exclaimed SO GOOD, DELICIOUS! I’m a quiet person, so I didn’t yell out and do backflips. But I agree with my wife; the chicken was delicious and juicy, much better than KFC.
My wife was so impressed she went to the counter and raved about the chicken to the people behind the counter.
In the future, we will be doing what the Terminator did:
“I’LL BE BACK”

Ordered for delivery they just throw the food down outside didn’t ring the door bell or anything o alert us they had arrived. The chicken was dose with salt and way too dry. I usually lik Popeyes but now I don’t I will be going back. This was disappointing at best.
I am updating my review and giving it 4 stars. I recently purchased two 3‑piece chicken meals and chose the dark‑meat option. The chicken was good — not too salty, not greasy, and the meat was fresh, which I really appreciated.
The driver was exceptional; I even wanted to increase my tip because the service was remarkable. I’m also pleased that management pays attention to reviews and works to make improvements.
One suggestion for improvement would be to ensure more consistency in seasoning and preparation across all orders, so every visit is just as enjoyable as this one.

I ordered a ordered 3 PCs spicy fav chicken…. also a classic chicken sandwich……I was appalled at the young Lady clapping the bun for the chicken sandwich…… before putting it in the machine of some sort……I was actually looking for the kiosk system to order my food like the Popeyes in Brooklyn….but it wasn’t one……. after I paid for this order……I placed an additional order for the 3pc fav again requesting a breast in the box……I was told that it was in the box…… when I reached my vehicle…..I decided to check before leaving to go home……I felt something was wrong because of the box size…… when I looked it wasn’t one in there…….it was all dark meat……I proceeded to return back to the counter……but the doors were locked……I had just exited the store around 8.50pm…..i knocked on the door and the man came to open the door as I assumed he was management……he said that he couldn’t afford me that option……..I said it’s a totally separate order on two different transactions…… without any confrontation I decided to leave…..I read the reviews and I decided to go in spite of it….I wish I had driven further the chicken doesn’t even taste spicy…….I will never patronize that establishment ever again…….. customer service is what keeps you in business…….the kiosk system has options…..so I don’t see what the difference is……. know I see what the talk is about the service………

GM shahad is very rude they have signs posted for deals they don’t have or want to honor. If the price is posted the prices should be honored it is the stores mistake and responsibility to take off any signs for promotions that ended

Second time I tried terrible food got the order wrong each time. Several people I know avoid this place. They have tricks to overcharge you. I don’t see them staying in business. I wont go back even if its free. Stay away!–Give the people good food with no trick bills.

I have tried this place twice, and both times the food was not fresh. It tasted like it was re-fried. On top of that, they overcharge by adding extra items to the bill. Stay away from this place it’s a rip-off with bad food. If you want repeat customers give them fresh hot food and don’t rip them off. I know of others that stay away from this location for that reason.
