Solid seafood joint. Portions are reasonable. Good batter on the fish and chips. Lobster roll could use bigger chunks of lobster for a textural difference. Pastas are good. Clam strips are very tender. Would recommend

Good fish and chips! There were two big pieces of Cod and nice chips! Clam chowder was a bit salty for me at, but acceptable. Since we went after lunch time, it was not busy. Space between table was good. The staff were friendly and energetic. We like this Anchor in Saratoga

Fish n chips were very good with generous portions, but a bit oily and seemed slightly under done. The fries were nothing special, and again slightly under done. The po’boy was excellent. Better than the one we had in New Orleans. We will definitely go back for more.

The service was friendly and accommodating.

Be aware: there is an extra charge to use your credit card. The menu prices are for cash only.

It was our first time here and could say that overall we were pleased. The fish and chips batter was different from what Im used to, but good. The Dungeness crab sandwich was also tasty and well portioned. It was early in the evening so the place was quiet and the service was great.

Great grilled fish and fish n chips!! I had grilled halibut and it was cooked perfectly!! Next I’m going to try blackened salmon. Fish was fresh and tasted delicious. They also have grilled fish tacos, my another favorite dish (next time ;)). Do try their homemade sangria, it was super delicious (not like your typical ones).

Great food. One of our favorite places to come for grilled fish tacos and fresh fish!
Service was great and can’t wait to come back soon.

We’ve been back to Anchors multiple times for lunch since my initial review, so I thought I’d post an update.

In the past nine months or so, we’ve tried several menu items in addition to the Alaskan halibut and lobster roll. The shrimp tacos, scallops, fish & chips combo, ceviche, fish & chips, and crab cake sandwich were all cooked perfectly and tasted great. Service was equally efficient and friendly, and we’ve gotten to know one of the servers (Carlos) by name.

Any restaurant can have a good or bad day, but consistency is vital for success. I’m delighted to report that Anchors Fish & Chips and Seafood has been consistently good over an extended period of time.

My wife and I are from New England, and we love fresh fish and shellfish, so we were eager to try Anchors as soon as they opened their nearby Saratoga restaurant. It was a real treat!

A lobster roll is at the top of my wife’s list of favorites, and she liked Anchors’ take on this classic sandwich. But the highlight of our meal was my fresh grilled Alaskan halibut served with jasmine rice and veggies (my choice of two side dishes). I’ve had Pacific halibut at other local seafood restaurants but it’s unusual to find it fresh from Alaska and I can really taste the difference. The fish was perfectly grilled, moist and flaky, and just plain delicious without any sauce to mask the taste. Veggies (mostly zucchini) were nicely grilled and the rice had a little drizzle of teriyaki sauce.

We enjoyed our meals so much that we went back for lunch again a week later. I was ready for another grilled halibut but my wife wanted to try other menu items so she ordered a cup of clam chowder and the halibut fish and chips. She thought that the chowder was good but she absolutely loved her fish and chips. The two large pieces of panko crusted halibut were crisp on the outside while the fish stayed moist and tender. Surprisingly, the French fries were limp and unappetizing. Other reviewers have said the same thing about the fries. This should be an easy fix!

Outdoor seating in the Saratoga location is limited to two tables directly in front and another five in a temporary “parklet” across the sidewalk. On a sunny day they fill up almost immediately after the restaurant opens at 11:30am. Anchors doesn’t take reservations.

This is a family owned business (three locations) and it feels like a good old fashioned casual neighborhood restaurant. Based on our two visits we’ve decided that it’s now our favorite destination for fresh seafood.

A nice casual restaurant in Saratoga downtown. Parking in public parking lots was easy on a weekday noon time. We chose an outdoor table in a mild weather. It was very relaxing and comfortable.

Service was reasonably fast. The waiting staff was very friendly and efficient. We had crab sandwich, a salad, and a pasta. All were good. Wished the bread was less charred though.

It was an enjoyable lunch.

My family and I have been here twice, and it has been consistently impressive thus far. The ambiance is cozy, quaint, and welcoming. The service is exceptional, and the food is EXCELLENT. #1 rule to seafood is freshness, and they have NO issues here. The menu is simple, with a surprising variety of options. We had the fish n’ chips, which was light, crunchy, and cooked perfectly. The tartar sauce is DEE-LISH. They also have a few variations to customize your dish. My son and I opted to order the bowls this time. Mine was teriyaki glazed salmon over rice and veggies. The flavor was punchy and smoky, and the plating was impressive. My son had the same dish but with prawns. My only feedback is that the vegetables would be better in heartier portions rather than micro cuts. But it was so good, the entire table ended up finishing this dish! We also ordered the fettuccine with prawns, and it did not disappoint either. They offer burgers and a couple of non-seafood options as well, and those are done well, too. Parking both times at 7pm-ish was no problem whatsoever, and they have patio seating as well. The pricing is fair ($87 tab for 3, with drinks) , and they offer a full bar and a happy hour. Match this with their excellent service, and it’s a no-brainer. We’ll be back!

We came for my traditional clam chowder birthday celebration, and this place made my experience special! The servers were attentive, approachable, the restaurant was beautiful and the CHOWDER… it was one of the best I have had!! It is creamy, plenty of clam meat and potatoes. The sourdough bread was a great side.

My family also enjoyed their dishes!

Nice menu focused on seafood, with a large choice of starters, pasta, panned fish, tacos, lobsters, shrimps, etc. Everything was good (nothing fantastic either), including the desserts. Excellent service. Spacious and comfortable room inside, a few tables outside in the center of Saratoga.
