Loved my visit to Guru Curry House in El Cerrito. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the cozy, quaint atmosphere made it a relaxing spot to enjoy a meal. The free chai was a pleasant surprise! The food itself was flavorful and satisfying. One small thing that could use some attention: a few of the tablecloths are stained—retiring those would make the place look even better. Overall, a great experience and I’ll definitely be back!

Me and my friends had an amazing experience dining at this Indian-Tibetan restaurant in the Bay Area! The food was absolutely delicious fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared and presented with authentic Indian and Tibetan spices. Every dish tasted homemade and comforting. The staff were warm, friendly, and attentive, making the service feel genuinely welcoming. The restaurant has a calm, cozy environment with relaxing music and a clean, inviting atmosphere. I also appreciated the safe and convenient parking, which made the visit even better. If you’re looking for a place that serves incredible Tibetan and Indian food with great service, this spot is a true hidden gem in east Bay .

One of the best Tibetan and Indian restaurants in Bay Area. Heard about guru curry for quite sometime but visited for the first time. This place has my heart. Very warm hospitality and delicious food were everything I wanted. Went with group of friends, everybody enjoyed it. Their new Tibetan menu was very simple and everything we tried were so so good. Everything about this place was praiseworthy. Highly recommended and definitely visiting again.

Best restaurant in the East Bay! I dine out quite often, but this one has been the best dining experience in the past year! First, the entire place is super clean! The floor, the table surface, and even the wall corners look very clean and dust-free. Second, it has its own parking lot, which is a big bonus. Third, the guy was super friendly! Once we sat down, he was paying attention to us to see if we needed to order or anything. He was very responsive the entire time. Fourth, the restaurant was very quiet, which was rare near Berkeley. My boyfriend and I were able to have a conversation while enjoying the food.

Most importantly, the food was SUPER GOOD! I tried some curry houses nearby, but this one was unbelievably fantastic. I didn’t expect it to be this good. We order one appetizer, two curries with rice and a dessert. The appetizer and the curries were really delicious, and the portion was LARGE! I think one curry should be enough for me and a friend. I didn’t really like the pudding (dessert) because of the spice, but I guess the pudding itself was well-made.

The guy said it opened last July, so it’s still quite new. Overall, the vibe was cool, the food was really good, and the price was pretty good as well! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! This will be my go-to option with friends and family from now on.

The person who served us was unnecessarily rude and curt. We arrived at 8:39 PM, while the restaurant closes at 9:30 PM. As soon as we entered, he seemed visibly annoyed by our presence and asked us to order very quickly before we even had a chance to sit down!

We ordered momos, rotis, and malai kofta. The momos were not authentic Tibetan at all, despite what other reviews suggest. The worst part, however, was the rotis – they were extremely hard and difficult to eat. When we asked for yogurt or pickle, we were told they had run out of both. We had to later simply discard some of the rotis.

Throughout the meal, it felt like he was just waiting for us to leave. We would have completely understood if he had simply told us they were closing early. But the attendant’s curt behavior, combined with the poor quality of the rotis, left a bad taste in our mouths.

If you’re craving authentic Tibetan flavors, Best Tibetan Cuisine is a must-visit. We tried their chowmien, momo, and tingmo, and each dish stood out in its own way.

Chowmien: Perfectly stir-fried with just the right balance of spice and seasoning. The noodles were springy, flavorful, and packed with veggies comforting and satisfying.

Momo: Soft, juicy, and filled generously. they were bursting with authentic Tibetan taste. The dipping sauce added a wonderful kick.

Tingmo: Light, fluffy, and beautifully layered. It paired so well with the curries and side dishes, absorbing flavors without getting soggy.
Overall, the food felt fresh, hearty, and true to Tibetan culinary traditions. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy delicious and soulful Tibetan dishes!

This is my new favorite restaurant! How have I not managed to come here before? I’ve been to a lot of Indian Nepali and Tibetan restaurants in the Bay Area, but this one is head and shoulders above.
The spicing was complex and subtle – so often saag pannier is just planned and this was anything but. We also had delicious vegetable momo, Beautifully presented, with for once the wrapping, not overwhelming, the filling. The tofu chili was very tasty and the garlic naan was the best I’ve ever had.

In addition, we were warmly welcomed, and cheerfully tended to, despite the fact that we had a two-year-old who was more interested in playing with his train then eating. They were very tolerant and sweet to us.

The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere. The food is outstanding. The people are so kind – oh and there’s a parking lot. What more can you want?

Very friendly and great flavor. Added bonus: will suggest this place for the next large work-sponsored meal (looks awesome for accommodating decent sized employee/staff company gatherings).
