This is my go-to sushi spot that I like to share with family and friends. The owners are incredibly kind. The rolls are always tasty. Given the price of everything in the economy, I say this is reasonable.
You guys are great!! Thank you again!

Small spot tucked away in Happy Valley with a good sized menu with a lot to offer. Didn’t see a Sake list so we had the house sake by default which was pretty good. If you’re ever in the area, give this place a try. Food✅Service✅Vibe✅Mahalo Sushi Moto!

My experience was ” Meh “. We were the only customer at lunch time. Ordered yakisoba with chicken. Cabbage salad was acceptable. I found hard grain inside white rice. It was cooked but left outside long period of time or cooked yesterday or something. Yakisoba had uncooked onion under the noodles, you can clearly see on my plate. Chicken was dry.
My husband ordered sushi. Fish had some off taste.
We won’t be back again.

Super fresh sushi – best I’ve had in Portland area in a very long time. Very friendly staff. Tonight was our first time here and it’s going to be our new go-to sushi spot!

We ordered 3 rolls, miso soups, and hot tea. Everything was tasty and fresh, and the rolls all came plated beautifully on a single platter together. The spicy tuna did indeed have a little kick to it, and nothing was drowning in excess sauces that would mask the flavor of the sushi.
The staff was friendly and even familiar with another patron who came in after us – to the point that they recalled that person’s usual order!
I will definitely be back when the sushi craving hits again.

I love coming to Sushi Moto! I’ve brought many family members who have all enjoyed it as well. Everything is always fresh and delicious. I have a gluten allergy and they’re very accommodating and can alter things to be gluten free. They also have tamari! I haven’t tried a menu item I didn’t like. Plenty of options for the non sushi eaters too.

Sorry guys but this is unacceptable. It took us 1 hour and 10 minutes to get our food and I ordered one sushi roll.. out of our party of 5 people. They didn’t even come up and ask us if we even wanted water. The deep fried sushi rolls were already cold, would have been nice if they brought those out when they were ready. Very surprised of the poor level of service in a city like Happy Valley.

I decided to check out this place for lunch. Their menu prices were very high but I found out that they had a bento lunch option for $22 not listed on the menu. This was still pretty high but I gave it a go and got a California roll and the spicy pork bulgogi. They didn’t provide water and the salad was just shredded cabbage. The pork was disgusting— it was 100% fat and I just couldn’t eat it. The California roll was good and so was the miso but this place is definitely a place to skip unless you want to pay high prices for poor quality food and service.

Service-wise they’re understaffed. So, its possibly the reason why it takes them awhile to get your entrees out. As for the sushi, we kept hearing the microwave being used, we assume it was to heat up rice. The rice was a long grain instead of sushi rice, by the way, which really took away from the flavor. Also, the Hawaiian volcano sushi it was edible but you can taste that the cooked portion of fish was getting to the point of being old. I’ve worked in restaurants and honestly, it was disappointing to know in the back of my mind how easily fresh these dishes could be. I would not want to come back to pay that price again for what equated to heated up leftovers.

Wow. Better than most places in Portland. The fish was fresh, the edamame was spot on, and even the ginger was surprisingly good. Gina, our server was so polite and she made us feel right at home. Would definitely recommend this place!
