My husband and I had a very enjoyable dinner at this upscale restaurant near downtown. Professional and attentive staff, good variety of small plate and main dishes. I had the schnitzel, which was flavorful and generously portioned. My husband had the ribeye, which was cooked to order & very tender. Good cocktail & wine selection as well. I enjoyed the Cranberry Bourbon Sour, which was very smooth. There was a birthday party going on in the private dining area, but this did not disturb our quiet dinner.

Meridian is one of the hidden gems in Winston Salem! It’s a very cozy and elegant environment and the food is consistently top notch. I started with French onion soup and ordered the grouper as my entree and my husband had the little gem salad and snapper. Everything was absolutely delicious! The menu is so unique and changes on a daily basis so they have a great variety. The waiter was attentive and personable. We can’t wait to come back soon!

It was meh. I had the snapper, which was good, not great. My wife had the New York strip. Again, pretty good, not awesome. Restaurant was less than 1/2 full at 7 on a Saturday night. Had a radio station for background music. Waiter was nice, but not very personable or informative. Never refilled our water. All in all, too many places in this price range are better in the area. Not a bad experience, but not sure I’d return.

This is well worth a visit. The “flash” fried calamari was wonderful. I can throughly recommend the lamb shank, the parsnip puree was sublime. The wine list was supportive of their menu, not overwhelming, and reasonably price. My only grip was the lamb shank could have been hotter. Our server was attentive, gracious and fun. I will be back.

We explored several restaurants to celebrate my birthday. After careful research we chose this place and it did NOT disappoint. The waitress was lovely, she gave us great descriptions of the food. I’m so glad we chose the mussels for our starter. The sauce was amazing… they packed the extra sauce for us to take home, apparently we weren’t the first to ask for it. We chose a quiet week day night. The ambiance was nice, the restaurant felt a little too quiet for the amazing food and service. We are planning to return soon, great experience overall.

Meridian is a high quality restaurant. Don’t let the neighborhood keep you from coming here. There is ample reserved parking around the corner.
We – four of us – arrived at 5:15 on a Saturday evening. Since we had been to Meridian several times before, we were not the least bit dismayed to see we were the only ones in the restaurant. In fact, we enjoyed that.
Even though our waiter, Dave, was fairly new to Meridian, he described food and drink as though he had been there years. Service was outstanding.
Quality of food was excellent. Scallops, NY strip, group with shrimp were our main course orders. Those followed apps of calamari and steak tartar. We recommend all of those dishes.
The reason for only four stars is that both scallop dishes came with three scallops, and they weren’t all that large. However, as mentioned earlier, they were very nicely and deliciously prepared.
We will return to Meridian when in Winston-Salem.

We absolutely loved the food coming out was a little bit on the slow side (yes they did have a larger party in the party room). Our waiter was exceptional and made our experience one we will always remember.

Had really bad slow service & food was not good especially for the price, wasn’t just me that felt that way. The Bartender was awesome wish we would’ve stayed at the bar! Drinks were good but the server didn’t give us our drinks till after our meals 1st & only time eating there for us.
