I was working in Pleasantville, New York on a 2021 Dodge Challenger SRT 392 Scat Pack and I asked our awesome customer where is a good local and non-chain place to eat. They immediately recommended Fatt Root which was less than 3.0 miles away. Fatt Root is essentially an Asian Fusion Kitchen that is a simple, casual, and cozy eatery with great food, drinks, and beverages served in a beautiful and comfortable dining and bar area. They have a very nice menu that is not too busy but it has something for everyone including some unique and special menu items. In addition, they even have a Kids Menu which you do not often see in restaurants of this type. They are known for their Asian-inspired dishes like bowls, steamed buns, dumplings, and ramen. You can have a delicious and fabulous meal coupled with warm, friendly, and attentive customer service. The establishment is definitely a popular place with the locals and it is definitely a refreshing change from the chains! It can get very busy in there and so arrive early and you won’t be disappointed!

Upon entering, I was we immediately greeted by Paula, Host. She was very friendly, pleasant, professional, and had a genuine smile. It was a Friday around 01:00 PM and I was immediately seated and provided with a menu and my beverage order taken. Paula was also my server and she immediately provided me with my beverage- Water, no ice, and four lemons. I told her that my customer had highly recommended the restaurant. I asked her for her personal recommendations and favorites. She directed me to the various Bowls that they prepare and recommended the Gunpowder Shrimp Noodles and Satay Bowl.

I rarely order appetizers but they sounded so delicious. Ironically, I ordered two appetizers, Spicy Chicken Dumplings and Korean Chicken Wings. For my entree, I ordered the Satay Bowl. Makayla, who I believe was a manager brought out the Spicy Chicken Dumplings Paula which I devoured… They were so tasty! Shortly afterwards, Paula served the Korean Chicken Wings which I completely destroyed.

Everything was absolutely delicious and my meal was prepared, portioned, cooked to perfection, and served hot. Paula was very attentive, friendly, efficient, and happy to help! They have very clean and well maintained restrooms. In short, the fabulous food and awesome customer service made for a great dinning experience! I will definitely be returning here when I am in the area to try some of their other phenomenal appetizers, entrees, and specials.

Enjoyed my dinner here Friday night. I started with a refreshing hibiscus iced tea and the chicken dumplings in a spicy peanut chili oil – both really tasty. For my main dinner, I ordered the Spicy Crunchy Zesty Chicken bowl, which wasn’t not very spicy, but still very flavorful and delicious.

We got the curry noodles, beef pho and Malaysian flatbread. Over all amazing flavors, you will leave stuffed and with leftovers!
The curry noodles are jam packed with flavor, they are not spicy! They originally come with thick chicken pieces, but I substituted it with tofu. I would recommend to add lime and tahini( so good it is seasoned so well)
Malaysian flatbread was okay they change the recipe and change the flatbread, I think it wasn’t for the better. It supposed to be a peanut curry, but lacked the peanut flavor. It seemed like all they did was add peanuts.
The pho was yummy they use 2 cute of beef (one better than the other) although it could use more noodles. We added a bit of chili oil and it was amazing.
Pro tip: ask for extra noodles to go($3-5) and take the extra broth home and you have lunch for the next day!

I visited this restaurant for dinner on a Saturday with my family. We had a great time. The bar service was very good, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The food was tasty and fresh. I really enjoyed the spicy beef noodles—they were full of flavor. The portion sizes were big enough to make us full.

There is also outdoor seating, which is nice if the weather is good. This is a great place to come with family. I recommend it for a fun and relaxing meal.

edited: I tried the gunpowder shrimp noodles today and it was phenomenal! it’s a stir fry noodle bowl with seasoned shrimp. A little spicy but not too much but it’s addictive!

I had the Thai curry noodle soup with chicken and it was awesome! Unlike other noodle soup at other restaurants, their chicken has flavors! it has been marinated, grilled (or fried?) then put in the soup. the broth is rich and delicious, a bit of a kick but not overly powerful. I love the pickled muster greens and crispy fried noodles that gave it a crunch. Overall, I was very happy about it. Will come again to try other stuff.

Amazing dinner and drinks, small spot for comfort food, delicious cocktails (make sure to order the espresso martini with sweet foam). Great experience, the spicy peanut sauce is fire

Overall this was a disappointing experience for us…it’s a cute place, service was great but the food was not. I had the chicken pho which was lukewarm at best but not bad in terms of the flavor combination: loved the cilantro and the dumplings in it, I would say a 4/5 for me! My mom tried the tuna poke bowl and it was a miss(2/5): the fish did not taste fresh and both the rice and edamame were undercooked. My daughter enjoyed the California bowl, I tried it and thought it was nothing special. The shrimp toast she picked as an appetizer was a waste of $15: we didn’t even finish it and it’s tiny! Maybe we caught them on an off night after the holidays (given the many great reviews here) but probably won’t be back to find out if that’s the case!

Fatt Root in Pleasantville offers a delightful dive into Asian street food, promising an experience that is both flavorful and satisfying. The restaurant’s menu shines with a variety of choices including noodles, dumplings, and an array of exciting rice bowls. Standouts include the spicy and nutty Dan Dan Noodles, succulently saucy ribs, and the perfectly steamed bao buns. For those seeking plant-based options, the vegan selections do not disappoint, with dishes like the Kimchi Tofu Egg Bowl and Avocado Tofu ‘Poke’ Bowl. The Spicy Chicken and Crispy Chicken bowls are also worth mentioning for those who prefer a bit of heat and crunch. Let’s be honest though – you come here for the heat and crunch!!

Complementing the solid food menu is a selection of great cocktails and rotating beers on tap, making Fatt Root a go-to spot for both food lovers and cocktail enthusiasts alike.

Parking can be tricky in Pleasantville but with a little patience, you’ll find a spot quickly. Fatt Root has high chairs for kids and friendly staff. Perfect place for families, date night, a casual meal, or picking up guaranteed delicious food.

Went to Fatt Root for a Saturday late lunch and we had a great time here.

The service was excellent and we were seated fairly quickly.

We ordered the classic pork belly ramen, chicken bao bun and some Korean chicken wings. The bao bun was amazing and the chicken wings were cooked very well. The ramen was good.
The only thing I wasn’t a big fan of was their Vietnamese coffee which had way too much cinnamon in for my taste.
