The cocktails are super unique and taste amazing. For the Spring area, I find the drinks to be quite pricey but worth it. Great location for a night cap. Limited food menu (mostly small bites). I did enjoy the deviled eggs – great for sharing but expensive. It really does feel like you’ve been transported somewhere much more magical than a random bar off FM-2920. It’s also super dark inside so difficult to keep track of time (in the best way!)
This is definitely a spot I would go back to if celebrating an occasion/wanting to impress an out-of-town or cocktail connoisseur friend. Parking does get difficult on weekends given that Thistle Drafthouse is right next door. Clean and private bathrooms. Plenty of spots for social media photos.
FYI there is a dress code! My husband had to remove his hat (which IMO felt a little unnecessary given that it was 5pm on a Friday and jeans are allowed but I guess I understand wanting to keep a certain “look.”)
A diverse and eclectic menu has something for everyone. The dark lighting and low seating make for intimate drinks with friends or a date.
Service is spotty but attentive if perhaps a bit quick to bristle, I’m guessing they get a decent amount of difficult customers.
We’ll definitely be back
Even though GPS did its job, we had a hard time finding the place. The entrance is located in the back of the building and has a sign that says “Closed” on it, although if you read the writing its clear that it’s part of the setting the scene. When we walked in we were greeted by Wendy who did such an amazing job all night that we thought she was one of the managers. Zoe was the server who took care of us and she was great! It looked like she was working the room on her own, but she still managed to check on us enough that we never felt ignored, but not so much that it was intrusive. She even went the extra mile and got my husband some extra bread for the hummus right when the kitchen was closing. All the food was fantastic! We had the Spicy Devil Eggs and the Finch Dip. Both were the perfect sizes to go along with our drinks as we weren’t expecting a full menu – just some bites to eat. Of course, the man attraction was the drinks. Danny was our bartender and he absolutely killed it!
First, my husband ordered the Underdressed cocktail and Danny came to our table personally to let us know he didn’t have all the ingredients and offer recommendations. My husband decided to go with a Dapper Dan (loved it!) and I had the Queen of Hearts which was equally as tasty. We found out Danny makes a mean sazerac (IYKYK!!) and that was our 2nd, 4th and 5th drinks for the evening…lol. The 3rd drink was a Ramos Gin Fizzy which I never heard of before but MAN was it AWESOME!! My husband doesn’t like gin, but enjoyed every sip of this drink. If we lived in town we would absolutely be regulars here, so if you’re in the area do yourself a favor and make sure you stop by for a one of a kind experience!
Pray, this venerable establishment exudes an air of remarkable coolness and ease.
It harks back to a bygone era, invoking a nostalgic charm.
I am loath to proclaim its virtues and risk diminishing its allure, yet it is of such exceptional merit that it cannot remain a secret.
Disclaimer – I didn’t eat or drink anything here as I was in attendance of a private event.
This is a Fantastic place. The ambiance is great, peacefully, relaxed setting where you can enjoy specialty cocktails and actually have a conversation.
The mixologist have some great tricks and knows his liquors and which compliments each other.
Comfortable seating with great music.
The snack / appetizer menu has some great items as well. The charcuterie tray has a great selection of cheeses and meats.
