I stopped by on September 23, 2025, around 5:00 PM when I was craving some pho. The atmosphere was nice and the broth had good flavor, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing overall. I ordered the rare beef and tendon pho, but the beef was nowhere close to rare when it arrived. When I brought this up, the woman at the counter gave me excuses about how they prepare it, insisting I was mistaken—but I’ve been a professional cook for nearly 20 years, so I know the difference.

On top of that, the portion was small for the $20 price tag, with very little meat in the bowl. Because of these issues, I can only give this place two stars and won’t be returning.

Vietnamese Cafe is a Vietnamese restaurant a block up from Market on 15th. Parking around here is always terrible, so be prepared to park up the block to walk to it and up their stairs (since they’re on the 2nd floor). Inside, they probably have a dozen tables or so. Their menu is a good size and easy to navigate. Prices per portion are pretty good as their sandwiches are pretty big. The staff are so friendly here, always happy and usually will strike up a conversation with you. Overall it’s a solid Vietnamese place with good food at a good price.

I ordered the veggie pho and fresh spring rolls. The rolls were good, what you can get anywhere really. The veggie pho was so bland and the broth was like salty water. Just those two things costed me $27 without tip. I wouldn’t come back here.

My favorite Vietnamese sandwich place in the Ballard-Greenlake area. The grilled pork on the sandwiches are quite juicy and tasty and the bread is really good toasted! I recently discovered the grilled beef salad as a low carb option too.

This was a nice little mom and pop restaurant down the street from me. I went to check it out because i saw it had 4 stars . When we walked in seems like only one person was working who so happened to be the chef. So he would wait us and cook the food for us. I got the tofu with vegetarian broth. I’ll be honest I’ve had better for sure, i think my pho just had too much pepper, tooo heavy for me. The broth was good but overall im not quite sure what was soo great? It was very meh for me, maybe because I’ve gone to places where the pho has impressed me a lot so my standards are set high already. The banh mi unfortunately had the same results the pork was dry which is unfortunate. Although the presentation wasn’t the best i would say it was something to fill our stomachs. I didn’t try the Vietnamese coffee but i was told by the other person it had too much sugar. I cant vouch for that. Im reviewing only what i tried. The place itself can use some renovations but sometimes these places just make you fee cozy.

What can I say?! The sandwiches were some of the most delicious things we have ever eaten. The owner was super attentive and gave speedy service. He checked everything was okay and filled our glasses with fresh ice water. I had the fried egg sandwich and shrimp summer rolls and my husband had the chicken and pork sandwich. Incredible flavours! Thank you.

Best authentic pho I’ve had in Seattle so far! I got a Pho Chin Gan and Shrimp Spring Rolls with Peanut Sauce. The next day, I came back here to try their Pork&Chicken Banh Mi! Everything was delicious

Great pho and fresh spring rolls! I ordered takeout and I appreciate that the broth was kept separate from the other ingredients and that the thin-sliced beef was still raw so it could be properly cooked in the broth itself. The broth has lots of flavor!

This is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Ballard. I’ve been going here for years. It’s cheap, tasty and the husband and wife are a delight. He cooks and she has a salon in the back. Sometimes it’s just him doing both front and back end while she has a client, when she doesn’t; she’s handling front end. They’re both wonderful people.

I admit, I am baised in this post, but it really is the best pho I’ve had and it hasn’t changed since 2017. Good ol’ reliable.

This is authentic Vietnamese food. Owner is very nice and friendly. Cafe sua da tastes the same here as it does in Vietnam. Great restaurant. Parking is a bit of a hassle but you’ll find a spot eventually. Be back soon!
