Agave Grill & Bar was Amazing! The Chicken Chimichangas were the BEST I’ve had. Loved the rice and beans and I’m particular about my rice and beans. The Coconut Margarita was outstanding! We had excellent service!
If you haven’t tried it yet I’d highly recommend.

Was pretty dead on a Friday, which was nice for me. Chicken fajitas were good. Taco salad with was okay, wouldn’t order that again. Prices are a bit high. Service was good. Friendly staff. Good variety on menu. Restaurant seemed tidy.

I appreciated that this restaurant was open late, till 10pm, thats a plus. I walked in at 9 and placed an order. The place was very inviting and I was greeted immediately. I ordered chicken chimichangas and the burrito agave for my son (who’s 18) and the bill came to $39 and some change which is a bit pricier than some of the other local mexican restaurants in the area, but not by much.
All the food had very good flavor.. the beans and rice were tasty and the salsa was really flavorful and chunky. My only dissapointment was that my chimichangas were soaked in a cheese sauce, I expected a nice crispy deep fried outer shell but they were soggy in cheese. I am not a fan of cheese sauce and prefer the real stuff instead. Had it stated that in the menu, I would have asked for none. The chicken however was moist and tasty and not dry like other places can be.
Overall, I would like to give this place another chance with a different menu item to give a final review. My son enjoyed his burrito priced at $19.99, which is a bit pricey, although it did include steak, chorizo and shrimp.
****update… ok so I visited Agave again, this time we ate in the restaurant and I have to say, my food gets 5 stars!! I ordered the Tacos De Barbacoa and they were the best Ive had in a while. I did speak to them about the soggy chimichangas and we agreed that those are probably not the best thing to order to go. Between the cheese and the container they just weren’t at their best. But anyhow second time around.. my friend got the fajitas and raved about the consistency of the meat. She said they were perfect, the steak and chicken were both tender and juicy. And my tacos had the best flavor as well. I highly recommend you try this hidden gem in southgate and you have to try the coconut margaritas

My total experience was absolutely Awesome. From the time Me and my Wife stepped in, we were welcomed by two of the most wonderful people I’ve ever met. Ashley our server and Mr. Miguel the owner. We ordered the Burrito Special and a side of Guac. I have to say that the Food was definitely “soul” food because that’s where it hit us, in our souls. We both agree that the Food was truly thee best Mexican Food we have ever had, and the Service and Courtesy didn’t disappoint either. Ashley was Absolutely Great. Very attentive patient, and descriptive of everything we asked her about the food. The atmosphere is great. Very clean and decorative, with very comfortable seats. I can’t complain at all. This is “My new Favorite Mexican restaurant, if not restaurant period” ! They made us feel like family. The Portions and Prices were great also. I didn’t want to leave !!!

This place has THE BEST salsa, and rice and beans that I’ve ever had anywhere!!! Hands down! All the food was phenomenal! But honest to god, the best rice and beans ive ever had in my life and the salsa is top tier! Been here 3 times already and the service is always awesome! Food is always great. I can honestly say that I haven’t tried anything, that i didnt like! I tried the street taco with the pineapple on it and WOW!! the flavors were insane! Definitely a must try! We also got a dish (cant remember the name) but it was stuffed and fried ponbello peppers. Im probably spelling that wrong. But it was amazing!!!! 10/10 all around!

Recommend! Greeted instantly upon arrival, management checked on each table during duration of dining and even when leaving to tell us to have a great day and thanks for coming in. We had Alex as our server, he was phenomenal, very attentive and helpful. The food was good, good flavours and authenticity. Interior was welcoming and beautifully decorated. Recommend giving Agave Grill & Bar a try if you find yourself in the Southgate area.
