Finally had the chance to check out El Agave restaurant and my only regret is not coming sooner. We were seated by the sweetest server. She was kind and courteous and gave wonderful recommendations. We started with an order of chips and salsa and the salsa was spicy and tasty! The chips were fresh and crisp. Just know that the chips and salsa although not complimentary, are worth the price. We ordered a fish burrito, a huarache de buche, fries, carnitas taco and menudo. Everything was so flavorful and delicious. The fries were so crispy and yummy. The tortillas with the menudo are made fresh. We also had the atole de maza and Champurado and both were hot and such a delight! I feel this will be our new favorite spot as we definitely want to give everything on their menu a try! If visiting Lake Elsinore, please give them a try!

Here’s an updated review —since my last visit, they’ve really stepped things up with their upgraded dine-in service. Every time we’ve gone, the staff has been super friendly and very attentive.
In my previous review, I mentioned an issue where my quesadilla took a while, and there wasn’t much communication about the delay. It turned out they had to remake it, but I just wish they had checked in and kept me informed. It wasn’t a huge issue, but a little communication would have gone a long way.
That said, the service overall has consistently been great, and the food is still delicious—especially for a spot in Lake Elsinore. The restaurant is always spotless and well-kept, which I really appreciate.
My family and I love coming here. We’ve tried the tacos, burritos, gorditas, nachos—you name it. And we never skip on the chips and salsa—they’re our favorite! Plus, it’s so conveniently close by. Definitely a local gem.

The ambiance is always great here it’s where you can bring your family for like a nice meal together. They have plenty of tables for small and bigger parties. Staff is very friendly very welcoming but service can be a bit better. There not super attentive once your seated. They take long periods to come and check in on you if there’s anything else you might like, if anythings missing or if everything is to our satisfaction. I waited 1hr for my quesadilla the last time I was here. They apologized they burned the first one apparently and had to remake it but they didn’t communicate that with me until I went up to them. I had to leave though because I had class starting soon so I had my sibling stay and it was switched to go instead of eating there. They make their tortillas from hand so it’s made fresh to order. I Can understand that and don’t mind the wait it’s just the lack of communication that bothered me. The food is great here though I would recommend there Gorditas the tripa, chicharrón, asada or pastor goes the same with their tacos. There birria is okay. There menudo is good too. There quesadillas are good as well.

Really amazing food and very affordable with great portions. Alot of places charge more or sometimes similar for smaller amounts and less flavor. They Don’t skimp on size or flavor. And I have also had the cook come and ask me how the food was. That was cool. Also they stayed open after they were supposed to be closed one evening when it was really raining hard, and me and my friend were completely soaked to the point of leaving puddles everywhere I stopped. And they did so without even saying anything about it to us as we were the only ones in there. They waited for us to finish then let us know. In fact I was in the bathroom and when I came out they were all at the door waiting for me to lock up. Lol. I found out later after talking my friend that they were closed about 45 mins ago. So thats awesome. Definitely recommended this place.

Food was surprisingly good. I noticed they do a lot of take out orders, I think they also do phone orders. We ate in. Im very picky with my Mexican food as my wife is an excellent cook. Whenever she’s out of town I usually eat out and I been living in the area for about six years and had never stopped. My son and I tried it out and we both liked the food. Serving sizes are good. Their burritos are big. I say it’s for two people. I been back a few more times. Prices are not bad. Service can be a little slow if they have a lot of take out orders.

The food was great! We loved that they provide large cups for coffee. The customer service was good, and the food was delicious. The salsas were excellent, but I think they should serve the birria hotter and offer a salsa specifically for it. Overall, we loved it! And we love the fact they open at 6:00

The menudo portion has decreased, and to make matters worse, mine was served cold. Another disappointing aspect was the nearly $5 fee for paying with a debit card, which I find unreasonable. Overall, this restaurant has lost the quality and experience it once offered.

When I ordered there was only one guy working. But he was impressive rang up my order then went back to cook. He got my order done in a timely manner. I got a 3 meat breakfast and 4 Asada tacos. They were delicious. The breakfast burrito is my best burrito I’ve ever had. I will be recommending this place to people.

Went here on a Saturday it wasn’t too busy but only 1 girl to wait tables. I did see other people walking around but not to wait tables honestly didn’t know what they were doing but thinking to myself someone needs to help this girl serving tables. Service was not good she only took our drinks ordered food and delivered food. She basically ignored us the rest of the time. I had to go up to the front to ask for a to go box and check. Food was just ok something seemed off about all of it. My son said chips tasted weird and the salsa tasted off. Also they charge for chips and salsa which I thought was complimentary but it was 2.99. Food was ok maybe it was the style it was made that we just didn’t like. Idk what it was but everything tasted off or weird. I will never come here again.

I went here to try it. It was later in the evening. And I was hungry. They were clesning up and breaking things down. I just wanted a burrito and I was denied. I was offered something Venezuela. A chef special that didn’t sell out that night. I didn’t like it. I swore I would ho back. A while ago I went with a friend and sat down in the dining room. The service was phenomenal, the server was great and so was the food. Nice presentation, hot and great for the pallet. Very reasonable, can’t wait to eat there again.
