TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Ill start off by saying the staff was nice but they didnt explain anything and the food was really good. The bad was its way to expensive! We had 2 “combos” and I use the quotations because they aren’t real combos because combos are a side and drink, we had to by drinks separately.

First time eating here. The atmosphere was bright and colorful. Lots to look at while you are eating or waiting on your order. Outdoor sitting is available and television to watch your favorite teams. I personally thought the sandwiches were really good, fries were crisp and hot. I tried the mild today, may step it up to medium heat next time.

This was our first time at this location. We ordered take out. We got a two tender combo, and then a one slider with mac and cheese. We also got a chocolate shake and loaded fries.
The two tender combo was great. We also ordered extra Dave sauce, honey and ranch. This is the first location that I’ve seen with ranch.
The one slider was good, but it was a cauliflower slider, not a chicken, so I was really surprised. I didn’t know Dave’s had vegetarian options.
The loaded fries were good but soggy by the time we got home.
The chocolate milkshake was good.

The fun decor, straightforward menu and yummy food makes this joint a top choice when compared to the various and multiple options of chicken places out there these days.
I like that you can choose how hot you want the chicken to be. I chose ‘medium’ and found it to be accurate. I’ll try ‘hot’ next time because I like just a little more kick.
The double slider with fries was too much food for me, but I was pleasantly surprised that my leftovers warmed up nicely in my air fryer the next day and had the same crispness and flavor as they did when fresh.
The only complaint to be had was my son didn’t care for how runny his milkshake was and wished for it to be thicker. Don’t skimp on the ice cream!

We visited the second day they were open, and they had fun decor outside! The owner was greeting people at the front door and handing out menus. I appreciated the owner being there. The line to order didn’t last long but gave us time to look at our handheld menus. My husband and I have ordered 2 sliders with 2 orders of fries to split at the Bricktown locations, so we did the same thing here. The inside had the matching Dave’s Hot Chicken vibe of other places but still looked unique. They also have a large parking lot. We got our food to go and enjoyed it at home. Their fries are crave-able as they are sprinkled with spices. The sliders are creative as they are served with kale slaw, which brings a crunch to your bite. The Dave’s sauce is a typical ketchup-mayo mixture with spices. Good to dip with and cool down any heat, and it’s served cold. The chicken is crispy and juicy on the inside. My reason for 4 stars is the food is good, but not exceptional. I’ve had it a second time this past week and it wasn’t the same as opening day. I will be back, and eager to try their margaritas!

Pretty good chicken! The seasoning was really good too, not too heavy or sharp. We’d gotten chicken bites and fries. The customer service was great too. The atmosphere of the store was bright and colorful and they played a good amount of European pop on the stereo-which I loved. Will come here again

Stingy with food even though they charge an arm and a leg for a meal.. wants to make you pay for ranch and extra cheese sauce when they barely put any on there (don’t even offer ranch with cheese fries) Dave’s chicken is absolute trash. Paid $60 for what? Dry chicken and cheese fries with barely any cheese.
