Stopped in for our first time for some beach day food and we are so glad we did. The two sandwiches we got were just so good and the dill potato salad was AMAZING! Definitely going to be regular customers there!

The staff was nice. There’s a parking lot available because it’s located in like a strip mall near the highway.
For the Thanksgiving Turkey Special sandwich, they let you choose the type of meat you’d like (shredded white or dark meat etc) The stuffing on the sandwich was the best part. It’s super big.
There are plenty of seats in here so it’s a good spot for a quick lunch (but the chairs are the type that get your hair stuck in them and you have to rip it out 🙁 )
Not super accessible by bus / public trans

Superb delicatessen in the heart of Newport. Cash or check ONLY, ATM on site. Open for Lunch, phone orders accepted. Whenever I am here on business I always stop here at least once for lunch. Offering a wide selection of deli sandwiches, they roast a turkey every day for a pulled smoke turkey sandwich (while supplies last). Hey also offer an assortment of sides, chips and bottled beverages. If you are in town, this is worth a stop.

Best sandwich on Aquidneck Island along with amazing soups, salads, and great services! I was informed that this was under new management but will say that was transparent for our lunch. Please try it out whether going to the beach, eating in or picking up to run back to the office, you will not be sorry!

I travel to Newport a few times a year and a highlight if my trips were lunch at Pickles. Stopped in today to realize they had changed ownership. Ordering was disorganized. I ordered a deli meat sandwich. Sad. Bread was very good $14 sandwich was one sad slice of meat, fresh lettuce and barely a swipe of mayo

In Newport for the weekend. Me and the lady wanted a quick bite to eat for lunch and ended up choosing Pickles. It was the perfect choice for lunch. I had the Piggly Wiggly which was perfect.! I also recommend the Potato Salad!!!
Cute little deli with amazing staff. Two Thumbs Up

Sandwiches are made to order. The BLT was very good- nice amount of crisp bacon, excellent ratio of lettuce, tomato, and mayo.
The Syrian bread on the grilled cheese wasn’t a great combo for me. I would have chosen regular bread.
Overall, pretty good! Would go again.

Steer clear of Pickles!

After eating a sandwich from here, I had some of the worst food poisoning of my life; which knocked me out for a week of high fever and inability to keep any food down.

When we went in at lunch time on a Saturday, we should have been clued in as we were the only ones there. The sandwiches were made with condiments out of old-looking tupperwares, and nothing seemed fresh with their low turnover. Deli meats, vegetables, and condiments must be kept fresh and be in steady rotation, not come from tupperwares stored for who knows how long.

Within an couple hours of eating their turkey sandwich, I started getting painful cramps which was the first sign of what was to come.

I’ll never go to pickles again and warn others to be cautious when ordering their food. It was expensive as well for what it was.

EDIT/ UPDATE: Then it was a Friday that I visited. I wasn’t making up the illness this placed caused, and your response “nice try” only goes to show how little you care for customers. Maybe update your hours on google “Saturday, 8 AM–1 PM”? See you never bro, gladly.

I called Pickles 4 days before I needed my order. They were very helpful on the phone so that I could order exactly what I needed to feed 12-14 adults. My order was ready for me in the refrigerator when I got there. The sandwich platter was perfect and so was the large cob salad. They gave us tons of dressing!
