Our recent visit to Popeyes was unfortunately disappointing from the moment we walked in. There were no napkins, no utensils, no sauces, and not even Coke available, which made enjoying the meal difficult before we even started. On top of that, the food took an extremely long time to come out, and it was clear the location was struggling to keep up.

The one bright spot—and truly the only ray of hope—was a worker named Jessica. She was doing everything she possibly could on her own, hustling between the register, the lobby, and the kitchen to take care of everyone in the restaurant. Her attitude, effort, and kindness were the saving grace of the visit. If this location turns things around, it will be because of employees like her.

With some improvements in staffing, organization, and basic supplies, this location could be much better. For now, Jessica is the reason this review isn’t lower.

I placed an online order. The order was supposed to be ready by 5:05 pm. I did not leave the restaurant until 5:50 because I ended up waiting an additi0nal 25 minutes for the order to be prepared. I ordered 3 spicy tenders with spicy buffalo bayou sauce and 6 pc lemon pepper rub wings with sweet heat sauce. I checked my order in the car before leaving. The tenders were not spicy, the wings did not have the lemon pepper rub and I did not get the sauces I asked for. I was not given any napkins either.

I visited the Popeyes at 517 Cahaba Park Circle, Birmingham, AL 35242, and had a great experience! The drive-through was packed, so we decided to go inside. A friendly staff member guided us through using the ordering kiosk, which was super helpful. The restaurant was clean, modern, and well-maintained. The staff were all very kind and welcoming.
Our food came out quickly and was delicious, though I noticed the chicken strips were a bit smaller compared to other places. Still, the flavor was on point! I’d definitely recommend going inside if the drive-through is busy. Great spot!

To have a store be open for less than 6 months and still be given a 1.8 star rating is a pitiful achievement this Popeyes has earned.

There’s multiple complaints I’ve brought to their automated system on their app but today was genuinely the straw that broke the camels back for me to review. I intended to use my points to get a free 5 piece tender, which I have earned being a Popeyes lover. Two teenage girls told me their scanner was broken and that I’d have to do a mobile order, but it would get made and brought out to me all the same. I did so and waited, after a while I then begin to notice the two girls keep peeking out at me and giggling. I was irritated and fed up by this point. Traffic was awful and I just wanted to get home to my daughter. I backed up asking about the order and they began playing dumb, then when I called for a manager they magically found my food that had been sitting getting cold. He apologized and said he’d deal with them accordingly but didnt offer any other reassurance or justification for my time being wasted.

The review isn’t specifically about this incident but more so how frequently these incidents happen at this Popeyes. Management is god awful and refuses to take accountability for their neglectful minor staff. Consistency is non existent.

We were so excited that a Popeyes was coming to 280 and we wouldn’t have to go to the Hoover Galleria food court anymore for our favorite chicken place. Unfortunately, they’re still working out some kinks.

Ordered pickup on a Saturday, scheduled for 11:45 AM. Food wasn’t ready until 11:50, and was initially included in someone else’s pick up order. Very busy, and staff were clearly on the edge of overwhelmed–though admirably maintained polite professionalism throughout.

It should be noted that there are also a number of problems with promotions. They do not have many of the offers that other locations do (and it took weeks for them to be on the Popeyes app at all). Worse, they could not get the BOGO chicken sandwich code to work for weeks, and yet advertisements for it were still running that entire time.

Ordered a 5pc mild tenders with red beans & rice and a Hawaiian punch, and a 3pc spicy tenders with fries and a strawberry lemonade. All were great and fairly fresh! No complaints on the food, it’s the Popeyes we know and love.

All in all, not nearly our worst Popeyes experience, but still room for improvement.

They in that kitchen playing, get them outta there. I’ve been to this Popeyes 4–5 times since it opened and my chicken is always old and soggy. I’ll be sticking to the popeyes in hoover. They mess up my order constantly. (This time i said dark meat only and still got a breast) One day they let you order something, the next day they claim you need a coupon for it. They’re always out of something. The service is slow as hell. Nobody can hear on the intercom, and on top of that the attitudes are terrible. Like, nobody’s forcing y’all to work here. 0/10 don’t recommend!

I’m not sure if the chicken was over fried or if the grease was just too hot. Either way the chicken looked well done and dry, which it was. It wasn’t a product of being held too long because the chicken was absolutely piping hot, but it was definitely overdone. I had a side of red beans and rice and The container was barely half full. The place was very clean and the employees seem to be stressed as if they are working too many hours as they appeared exhausted. The place was clean. I was so excited that 280 has finally gotten a chicken restaurant. Popeyes can be so good. Sadly today it was not.

Terrible services! I had a really bad experience with these two tonight. The guy told me he was about to clock out to handle me. I ordered fresh food and when I arrived to the window, the fries was soggy and I asked for hot fries and she asked me to come in. I have a video of both workers being rude and unprofessional to me.

This location needs to shutdown until more professional people are hired.

THE OWNER REALLY NEEDS TO LOOK AT THESE REVIEWS!!!
This location isn’t gonna make it in this area unless they get a handle on the business side of things.
For the most part, the workers have always been nice, but they never have what’s on the menu. They pull customers up for extended periods of time. The other day, I sat in the drive through only to be told “We’re closed” when I got to the speaker.
Today, I was cheated on a refund AGAIN.
Every single time I go there, there’s always a problem.
We have a multitude of great food options in this area and I for one will be taking my money elsewhere from now on. It’s too bad because generally, I really like Popeyes.
This location though, nah I’m good on yall!!

Horrible service, I’ve been to this location 3 times since they opened. And each time I’ve waited at lest 45 minutes only to find out that my order is wrong each time. This last time I ordered online. When I picked up my order it was finally ready with no wait. I was in a hurry to pick up kids from daycare, I didn’t check my order while standing there. Got to my destination and checked my order It was wrong again. They would not give me a refund. Told me to come back the next day to receive my missing items. I’m just going to forget about it. Cause the service I’ll probably get when I return will be horrible as well. Employees hide in the bathroom. Don’t want to work. The employees don’t know the difference between a breast and a thigh. If you order all thighs,, you’ll get all breast. If you order a 3 piece you’ll get a 2 piece. Sorry this is the only POPEYES in Birmingham area OR CHICKEN PLACE besides the GALLERIA MALL. THIS LOCATION HAS RUINED POPEYES REPUTATION. NO WONDER THEY CLOSED THE REST OF THE POPEYES IN BIRMINGHAM, NORTH BIRMINGHAM, HOOVER, TRUSVILLE, HOMEWOOD AND AVONDALE.
