This Chinese bakery has been here since my childhood, they sell all kinds of buns! From Barbecue Pork buns, pineapple buns to cocktails buns, they also sell all kind of cakes and cookies as well!
The best part of this bakery is being able to find “Little Phoenix Cookies” aka Little Chicken biscuits/ cookies, despite the name, it doesn’t contain any chicken!

One of my favorite Chinese bakeries in Oakland. You can’t go wrong whether it is buying just one or two buns,a box of pastries, or a birthday cake. I highly recommend the egg tarts and the pineapple buns. There’s 2 sizes for the pineapple buns, the regular size ones and the small ones. The small ones are 5 for 3 dollars. There’s usually on average about 2 or 3+ people in there all the time ordering items so it’s quite a busy place but not crowded nor lining-out-the-door long. For the cakes, you can order over the phone, order in person, or actually just grab one that is on display. I would recommend ordering one to guarantee that it’s more fresh. Yes,the outside of the store has seen better days and definitely need an upgrade but it’s the buns and other pastries on the inside that counts the most. This is a cash only place. On occasions, I’ll see someone order a box of items and then tell the ladies to wait a few minutes while they need to dash quickly outside to find an atm,so remember , cash only.

The size of the bao is bigger than I’ve seen at other bakeries, and a good deal. I enjoyed the large rice dumplings, all savory. I appreciate that they had non-peanut ones because my kid is allergic. One of the staff recognized me as the daughter of a regular, which made me really happy. Hadn’t been there in maybe 5 years!

This is a quiet little place in Oakland’s Chinatown. I’ve been coming here for years. I get a coffee and a cookie or some kind of baked. Good that it’s quick, fast and easy. You could be back on the freeway in no time. Just a block and a half away

I really like their small pineapple buns, and they are only 5 for $3! They taste amazing when fresh out of the oven. Highly recommended!

Classic HK-style bakery. The large bbq pork buns are about the size of a softball, could use a bit more filling but overall decent (SimplyCake in San Mateo has juicier/tastier filling even though the buns are smaller). Good value at $2.25 as of May 2025. Doors open and good ventilation, many staff and patrons in surgicals. Cash only.

The egg tarts were good and loved their pineapple buns. We only got to try their standard pineapple buns without fillings ($3 for 5) but they were so good — there was a good amount of cookie topping compared to bread.

Cash only pastries shop. It is interesting chinese cake and pastries shop. From outside you won’t know itvis a cake shop as it looks a bit run down. I feel like I am back to my childhood when I saw so many pastries which I had when I was a kid and the taste is still the same. I bought some home and had some at the store. The husband and wife baked cake are authentic. The worker is friendly but mostly cannot speak English well but cantonese.
