Our menu follows a meat-and-three style, changing daily, but every meal comes with soft rolls or classic cornbread. Don’t forget dessert—we’re known for our rich bread pudding! Always get the fried chicken. Very good. Had green bean casserole and rice casserole as sides last visit. Both good, but like the rice was the best. We shared a slice of ‘my Mamas Pie’. Pretty good. It will be full by 12:15, so go early.

Thought we’d try a new, old reliable, (when it was out in the country) staple restaurant today. Same atmosphere as the old place, same paperbag menus, same friendly staff BUT the food was tasteless and killed. Not overcooked, killed! There was no crunch left in the carrots, peas or greens and the fried chicken was piping hot but severely overcooked and dry and at $20/head I expected better. I know they can do better because I’ve had better at their old location. This was my wife’s first visit and she said it will be her last.

I haven’t been here in a long time so I was really excited about going to get lunch there. I had to send the over cooked fried chicken back because it was cold. I didn’t mention the rolls that were burnt on the top. I did look around and noticed that everyone else had fresh rolls cooked perfectly. Very disappointing. I won’t go back.

Very nice staff and establishment overall. They are family oriented; Very kid and elderly friendly but the food itself is pretty basic and underwhelming. Nothing to really rave about. However, the dessert options here are the best thing going in my opinion.

What a quaint little hometown place. Our friend took us and the food was something my grandmother would have made. Not too big. With southern sweet tea and a some of the best gravy I’ve had in forever. Definitely a must try if your out this way.
