First impression; as I walked in, I instantly recognized it as a well-loved establishment. I set my expectations a notch higher, as was not disappointed. Chicken was tender, cooked to perfection. Veggies were fresh. The menu and service are relatively simple and straightforward.

Indeed, it had a very homey atmosphere.

Taste Price Quantity Kindness all of those are very impressive! My kids LOVE this ‘yakisoba’ and ‘sweet&sour’, and my favorites are ‘spicy chicken teriyaki’ and ‘spicy peanuts’!!! My kids says St. John’s Kitchen is the best teriyaki not only in town but in the world. I agree with that. 🙂

Me and my crew had another great experience. Although the fried fish wasn’t available, the manager and our server made amends!

My only complaint is having to pay $8 to access the restaurant. This money should be waved or credited on the restaurant bill. I can only imagine the number of customers the restaurant are not getting due to this cost.

Update: I was just there again and forgot the last time I reviewed the place a couple of years ago. Having done almost 50 other teriyaki places in between. I keep coming back here as this place is the hidden gem of local teriyaki. The portions and flavor are fantastic. It feels like they’ve gotten more plants in the front. The only place that rivals it is Du’s and that place is so busy. If you’re in St. John’s, this is the place to head up!

Old: Food is fantastic. Place was pretty busy and you can tell locals hit this place up all the time. It’s got a real old school vibe because it is a house/ business. I felt like I was in someone’s grandma’s place with all the house plants… To go service only

Pretty much no wait time if you get the chicken or pork.

They have a really good menu even though I haven’t tried very much on it. The quality of rice was so good. I say that because if it’s just so so it just doesn’t feel like anything else fits together. I really like that. They had sauce out if you wanted something spicy or a little bit more of the teriyaki sauce and it’s just so easy to grab. I think a lot of places fail at some of the to-go elements. But this was so dialed in. It didn’t matter. There were almost 10 people waiting. I think I was in and out and three to four minutes. This place rocks will hit them up again

Food is pretty good, love the spicy chicken teriyaki. Not somewhere you’d sit down with friends or family to enjoy a meal.

This is a great little place to have lunch. They offer dine in or take out options. The food is always really good and the service is nice. I would recommend trying this place and the prices are really good.

Sorry, but this is a huge no. Weird unsanitary looking conditions, rude service, and strange dried out inedible food that went straight into the trash.

Food was good other the the welted salad that they add next to your chicken and rice with no divider. I really wanted salad dressing on my teriyaki chicken
