If you’re in Atlantic City and wanting some excellent Mexican food and cocktails right on the boards steps from the beach. It’s not your typical boardwalk food, it’s housemate, fresh and fun. Indoor or outdoor seating and to go beer for the beach or your walk. This is where locals go, and when you visit you will know why.

We ended up at Lotería because AC decides to close restaurants insanely early any time of the year ! This place is a fun choice on the boardwalk to end a date night or kick back with friends!
It’s perfect for grabbing drinks and tacos. We sat inside since it was packed that Saturday, but they stay open later than other spots, which was a nice surprise. We tried the shrimp and mango tacos, and they were pretty good—honestly better than most of the food options on the boardwalk.
The service was decent, especially given how busy it was, and the food came out hot. We also ordered a hard seltzer( I would’ve done something funner but $), which was also a bit pricey for spiked soda- but tasted just fine as I suspected it would.
Overall, it has a friendly vibe, and if you’re looking for a spot on the boardwalk, this one’s worth a try over the others!

So here’s why they got 5 stars even though my chicken tacos weren’t great. The service! The waitress immediately noticed that I wasn’t eating mine. She came over and asked if something was wrong when I told her they tasted bad, she said, “ok” and got the manager. He came and said he would take it back. He came back 5 minutes later, apologized and explained that the batch had too much cumin. He took it off the bill and offered another dish or drink on the house! Not too many places have customer service like this anymore!

I don’t know how to describe the inviting allure of this place, especially since the boardwalk of Atlantic City appeared quite depressing, filled with cheap, overpriced souvenirs. When this place caught my attention, I wanted something refreshing to beat the heat. My friend and I decided to sit at the bar to enjoy a drink when the owner kindly offered us samples before we purchased full cups. He was a fantastic man with a great spirit and a beautiful soul, and hearing about his ideas for other businesses he was planning was genuinely inspiring. I felt a connection to his presence as he shared his background. The attention he gave to his customers was priceless. The drinks were fantastic, and although I didn’t get to try the food, looking at the menu made me confident I wouldn’t be disappointed with the Mexican cuisine he offered. I would recommend this place a thousand times; even if you don’t order an appetizer or a full meal, the great drinks and conversation at the bar were absolutely worth it.

“Authentic Mexican food”,^ as if. Food was too small and cost too much for just one taco. Would have been okay with the price if the servers response to the question of how big they where wasn’t decent. Honestly descent isn’t taking one bite and the taco all gone. The chicken taco was alright, as was the pork. The steak taco though that’s where my anger at the price and size of the food ended, and the rage began. Don’t claim to be authentic mexican anything when you don’t serve tacos that taste like they were made by mexican abuelas. Then claim to serve one size cup of fountain soda drinks-tiny kid sized cups.

The waitress was great, service was non existent when she left. Tacos were moist and the meat was not dried out. The cheese that comes with the chips and cheese tastes like nacho sauce if you like that. 18% gratitude included as stated.

This place is a joke. I got my $13 margarita in a plastic cup. The rice and beans were soaking in grease, my husband’s were served to him cold and my empanadas had no flavor and were greasy as well. . When my husband mentioned the cold rice the waitress just walked away with no apology. The floor looked like it hadn’t been swept all week. We were given the wrong check when it was time to leave. They added a gratuity to their check so no way were they getting a tip! STAY AWAY!
