They serve fresh and tasty indian food. They do buffet as well. I frequently eat here as well as do carry. The food here is fresh and tastes so good. The service is nice. It looks like its a family owned restaurant so the food tastes more like homemade. The food is light and less oily unlike other Indian foods

I have been dying to try this place since it opened, and never had the chance because my spouse doesn’t like Indian food. FINALLY I got the opportunity. I’ll admit I was a little concerned when I walked in, because it was empty except (I think) the owner/manager and the kitchen staff. But, I stuck with it, and I’m very happy I did.
The lunch menu is $8.99, very reasonably priced. Comes with one entree off a set menu, basmati rice, 2 pieces of naan, your choice of 2 samosas/soup/1 veg pakora, and desert. So, quite a bit.
I got dum aloo, hot, with the samosas. Within a few minutes I had my samosas and condiments (mint sauce, onion chutney, tamarind sauce, and hot sauce). The samosas were perfect, all the way around.
Dum aloo comes, and WOW it was more food than I expected for less than ten bucks! And to my absolute delight, it was actually spicy. I have had several situations over the years at various types of Asian restaurants (Indian, Thai, etc) where I ask for spicy and get ‘meh’. No, this was just the right amount of spice without overpowering the actual flavor of the food. Well played, there. Like the samosas, perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, just exactly what dum aloo is supposed to be.
Also, the naan? Very good-sized pieces. I feel like I’ve been getting robbed of naan for years, somehow. These were 2 pieces that were at least half again the size of my hand.
The only down side of the entire thing was my own fault: I forgot my to go box! 🙁 I’ll have to remember it next time I go. Because there WILL be a next time. Several, probably.

Updated 8/21: Had a lovely lunch here today. Food was excellent as was the service. Note that there is now a 4% surcharge for credit card orders; they are passing along the credit card company fee to you unless you pay cash.
I’ve eaten here a number of times and the food is always good. Great service, too. If you like Indian food, then you need to try this place.

Fine food and service! I have been to every Indian restaurant in the triangle, Pandwar in Burlington, NC is my favorite.
The menu items are accurate, authentic and plentiful. The atmosphere of the restaurant is modern contemporary and still comfortable. Look for the select days when the pani-puri buffet is open!

The #86 was delicious and plentiful, as you can now see. (Naan not pictured but also amazing.) I also got to try some of the appetizers from the veggie sampler as well as the non-veggie sampler, also full of tasty treats, and the vegetable pakora was my favorite of those. Overall, great number of options, great service, great flavors, and I enjoyed the music as well. Also of note, the gulab jamun was SO GOOD.

My brother and I had the pleasure of eating at Pandwar a week ago. I think I’ve told everyone that I know who lives in state about the experience. The food was absolutely amazing, and authentic, nothing watered down at all. The service was good, and the atmosphere was exactly as you would hope. Very inviting, comforting, family friendly, and intimate. This has easily become my favorite Indian restaurant.

My boyfriend and I stopped in one night not realizing they closed in less than an hour. After we were served we noticed and apologized profusely and the people working were incredibly kind and still welcoming! The food was delicious and I love that all of the vegan options are clearly labeled. Best food I have had in a long time and we will 100% be back! This has to be the best Indian food I’ve ever eaten out!

I haven’t tried very many Indian restaurants but eating here was like discovering a new favorite flavor. Our waitress was very accommodating with her suggestions and explanations of the food and what we might like best. It’s family owned and operated and probably the richest food I’ve ever eaten. Its something different for Burlington.
