Uptown Tavern has that classic bar feel with a great atmosphere and the bonus of a banquet hall attached. The wrap-around bar is a standout–old-school charm that adds to the experience. They’ve also got the best pool table north of Madison, which is a huge plus if you’re into a good game.
The food is solid, and the prices are right in the middle–not too pricey, but you’re getting good value. The only downside is that the bar can get chilly in the winter when the door opens, but it’s a small trade-off for the overall vibe. Service is great, making it an easy spot to come back to again and again.

We popped in on a whim, and were pleasantly surprised. The outside is no reflection of the inside which was clean and bright. We were kindly greeted and had great conversation with both members of the bar staff. It was almost like being in a British Pub. The food was good and we will definitely be back!
