I ordered takeout from El Gordo Coqui yesterday and wow — everything was absolutely delicious!
The empanadas were golden and crispy with perfectly seasoned filling — fresh, flavorful, and not greasy at all. The pernil was tender, juicy, and packed with rich, slow-roasted flavor that melts in your mouth. And the Cuban sandwich? Incredible. Crispy pressed bread, savory pork, ham, gooey melted cheese, and just the right balance of pickles and mustard — every bite was perfection.
And I can’t forget dessert — the tres leches cake was AMAZING. Moist, light, perfectly sweet, and soaked just right without being soggy. It was the perfect ending to an already fantastic meal.
Everything was packaged well and still hot when I got home. The portions were generous, and you can truly taste the authenticity and care in the food.
If you’re craving real Latin comfort food done right, this is the spot. I’ll definitely be back!

We came in about an hour before close, we got beef empanadas peril the pork chop and the stew…. We all got all three kinds of rice and the two options of beans… everything was amazing, flavorful and so filling!! The empanadas were actually insane so so good!!! We will absolutely be back and will be bringing our family as well bc they will also LOVE it

When my fiance asked me to go get Puerto Rican take out I figured I would be going to the standard Puerto Rican restaurant with the same standard recipe I’ve had my whole life at these restaurants growing up in NYC. It’s good, but tastes like it’s from a Puerto Rican restaurant you know?
Here’s what took me by surprise it tasted like my mother and grandmothers cooking. I was thoroughly impressed and I really enjoyed my meal. The pernil was absolutely fantastic, kidney beans were great and aroz con gondules was amazing.
You can always tell when something is cooked with love.

You have to try it. As a somewhat picky person (you can’t eat everyone’s food) this place was fantastic. Extremely reasonably priced and honestly pretty cheap for the amount of food you get. My family of 4 shared 3 small platters and 4 empanadas. We took an entire platter home lol. Food was *CHEFS KISS*
The family friendly atmosphere playing great music was wonderful. The employees and ownership are just awesome awesome people and were an absolute pleasure to meet and talk with while we were there. The juices were on point and the TRES LECHES CAKE. Out of this world. Rice and beans all on point. Pollo guisado, pernil & chuleta!!! no dry meats over here.
Highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed. Great family. Great establishment. Can’t wait for the next visit. !

Smaller place that can be easily missed . We were craving Puerto Rican place and found this one . Drove 25 minutes and it did not disappoint. Each meal comes with rice and plantains both sweet and fried . We got two chicken stews and the Pernil make sure you get the green sauce because that was amazing . 85 dollars for two empanadas, 3 meals and 2 desserts not bad at all ! Empanadas were good even though they’re on the heater and came in 30 minutes to closing I was very pleased with the whole meal only thing I wish was more chicken in the stew

The owner Antony and his lovey wife prepare some of the best empanadas I’ve had in a long time. They offer a nice selection of different fillings such as Philly Cheesesteak, pepper and onions , beef etc. The owner Antony told me the menu will be expanded in the coming weeks.
This restaurant is brand new and I’m excited on what the new menu they will be offering

Visited my family from Virginia and me and my husband always try to find Puerto Rican food. We found you guys and we were all so pleased. They had foot traffic suddenly and they were not rude or rushed. Very kind, helpful and backed up with yummy food! You get a bang for your buck. Great portions. Went today and ordered two empanadas…DELICIOUS! I’m from Linden and we have lots of places up there..but this placed PACKED in the filling. I thought it was pricey but after eating them it’s worth the price. I really should’ve had one..one is filling. I had the beef and Philly cheese steak. The GREEN SAUCE…AMAZING.
