Now I LOVE my people at Los Reyes Bakery. They’re always smiling and are very nice whenever I stop by every now and then. That being said, I CANNOT let this incident slide. While eating the Tres Leches Cake, I noticed one bite I took wasn’t quite right. I spit it out and saw something brown. After looking at it closer I realized it was a roach floating in the milk and immediately started gagging. I had bitten it in half which is why only half its body is in the photo. Please do better. There is no excuse for this.

I felt like I was in a bakery like those I had experienced in Mexico! An unbelievable selection of Mexican treats. They also do cakes and of course the famous tres leche cake! They do birthday cakes and other occasions. They had flan in several flavors. They had some breads and as I said many varieties of sweet baked goods. We tried several kinds and liked them all!

How does this place get good reviews? Outside of Memphis this would be 2 stars max. The pastries are so dry they’re almost inedible. We got 3 and all of them were hard, tough to chew, bone dry, and flavorless. Some of the worst I’ve ever had.

This is the Dessert Spot for me in Bartlett. If I am at work and I feel the need for a pick me up and make me happy treat. BOOM! I know where to go. I went in just on a whim and because I love to #eatlocal #supportsmallbusiness. The desserts are not the normal super sweets you get at American bakeries. They are traditional Latin/Mexican/Spanish (Not American) dessert.
So far I have tried the tresletche (Strawberry and Caramel), cookies, donuts and the rice pudding.
My wife loves the cookies. They are basically shortbread.
We both love the tresletche. And just recently I found my all time fave.
Pictured below is a Chocolate tresletche cake with (wait for it) FLAN!
Yep, your brain just melted! OMG

Pros: Location, hours of operation, price, and selection.

Cons: Sometimes language is an issue, and none of the desserts have descriptions. Donuts are a tad dry and lacking sweetness.
