I love Tropical! The food is great and the smoothies are absolutely bomb ! I’ve never had a problem with the staff and the wait time is reasonable. But today I got my usual smoothie and tried to take it out of my cup holder and had it spill all over the place. Was super upset and by the time I had finished cleaning the mess up, the store was closed. Will be coming back in the morning to see if they can remake it for me, although they will probably charge me for another one according to other reviews.

Update: They did not remake it for me and could not offer me a refund. The manager said you have to call them 15 to 20 minutes after leaving so they can remake it for you otherwise there is nothing they can do for you and even then they still cannot offer you a refund so it’s final sale. Very upsetting.

The customer service here has to be the worst I’ve ever received. There’s one girl sometimes at the window that’s sweet. That’s it. Every other time you’d be better off hopping back there and making your own smoothie bc they don’t care about your order at all. They never greet or acknowledge you in any service channel. They’re never efficient. They’re also never happy to be there. Management should take a look around at any of the procedures. Also when you’re in a state that you have to pull an entire line of cars past the window, and not one person can get their order in a timely fashion, you have problems. Today alone I waited 25 minutes in the drive thru, 7 additional at the dt order box, for a mobile order mind you. I let them know and she snapped at me “you need to come inside”. I’ve never had this issue at any other location, doesn’t say so on the app, and I had already been waiting an excessive amount of time. Any company prioritizing customer satisfaction and service would’ve treated that differently. Disappointing. I went in, passed an entire line of parked cars from the dt, and wasn’t greeted or acknowledged. Inside, no one was communicating, didn’t appear to have a plan, or any efficiency. I didn’t see a single smoothie actually completed. Management needs to get a grip on their staff and leaders, and maybe make the job fun to be at. Fine smoothie, but awful experience.

It’s funny to hear all the complaints about wait times and stuff. Just remember, we’re in a military city, and they do have online orders through Uber Eats, DoorDash, etc. They might not have enough staff, and the manager could do a better job. If you’re never worked at a tropical smoothie, maybe you shouldn’t worry about how long it takes.

used to order from this spot at multiple times. The food is not inconsistent. The owner is terrible. The food takes a while to come out. They made a mistake with my order. She wanted to charge me for the entire order again instead of just the extra dollar or so for what I wasn’t charged. She also refused to acknowledge the mistake on her company’s part and wanted to make me wait more and charge me again. Terrible service!

Not happy at all with this place!. I do uber on the weekends and I drove across town to come pick up an order just to find that they had closed almost 2 hours early. Even though both on the app and on their door, it is posted that they’re open till 11. Someone in management has failed on updating schedules that are used by customers. Customer was definitely not happy and it cost me money. EPIC FAIL

The smoothie I ordered was absolutely delicious—great flavor and exactly what I was hoping for! I’ve noticed some reviews mentioning rude staff, but in my experience, it seems more like they are understaffed and stretched thin rather than intentionally unkind. The team does their best, but this feels like more of a management issue that could be improved with better staffing and support. Overall, the product itself is excellent, and I’ll definitely be back for the smoothies.

I came in to grab an order only to watch a guy clean for over 5 minutes without speaking a single word to me. Customer service needs to be taught again or for the first time. A simple “hi welcome in ill be with you in a moment” would’ve changed everything.

Also, does this place not have sponges or cloths to wash the blenders? Some tall curly headed gentleman dug his fingernails in the blenders and splashed water in it. And then not wash his wands.

Really stuck between the 2 and 3 stars. First tried tropical a few years ago in Harker became a regular but bc I live closer to the new one here on ft. Hood street it’s a good convenience. customer service for me has never been an issue, I would give them a 5 on that. Why 3?

Smoothies for the most part comes out a bit too soupy/watery you have to ask for them to specifically not make it that way.

Flat breads- big fan but I feel that if they know they’re Going to be out of an ingredient needed for the flatbread they should inform you before taking payment that they don’t have it. Many times they’ve not given me bacon which if roles were reverse and I asked for extra I would’ve been charge, chicken portion could be ALOT better. Tomatoes are another thing they won’t tel you they’re out of for some people the simplest ingredient makes that sandwich for them.

My biggest issue with tropical/other chains is having your employees ask if we want our receipts instead of having them acknowledge each customer that every receipt has reward points to work their way to free menu items bc where does the receipt go when customers say no?

I’m not here to criticize I will still continue to be a faithful customer and upgrade my reviews as they progress because I think they’ll get it together. Everyone is Human.

Just pay a little visit for some late lunch and to see how things are going recently after I left the employee there long ago. The improvement and motivation………is not what I expected the difference from 3 years ago… I do hope that the workers are trained properly and efficiently rather than being rude and sarcastic. The wait times are understandable but the amount of staffing and their behavior are the one I’m greatly concerned about (They need some breaks to ease their stress and have some more staff to cover them). The place (including the bathrooms) is not very squeaky clean since there are unclean sticky spots all over the table(s) and floors which is easy to miss. I strongly encourage to try to help the staff with determined supervision and guide to avoid major issues in the future. Best of luck.

They are so slow in store and in the drive-thru. Eveeytime I come here, it takes them 20 mins for a smoothie and they’re never busy! Where is management? Do you not see the reviews with the wait times being ridiculously long???
