Definitely fresh food! Tacos were great – not the best I’ve had but still really good. I tried 3 kinds my favorite was the Campechano. My husband had the burrito. He ate it all. The tortilla chips were nice and thin and crispy and salsa tasted fresh. Beware the red sauce in the bottle is super hot! The green sauce was delicious. The dining room felt incomplete – with half not finished – likely a work in progress. The Latino live concert playing on the tv added some fun to the dining environment.

An unforgettable taste of Guatemala!
Restaurante Tajumulquense Chapin is a true gem—a warm, family-run haven that brings the heart and soul of Guatemala to every plate. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted like family, and the vibrant atmosphere makes you feel right at home.
The food? Absolutely extraordinary. Every dish bursts with authentic flavor. You can taste the love and tradition in every bite. Their homemade tortillas and fresh dishes are the kind of comfort food that stays with you long after the meal ends.
What sets this place apart is the genuine hospitality. The owners go above and beyond to make sure every guest feels welcome and cared for. It’s not just a restaurant—it’s a cultural experience, a celebration of Guatemalan heritage, and a place you’ll want to return to again and again.
Highly recommend to anyone craving real, soulful food and a warm, unforgettable dining experience!

My husband and I went in shortly after the grand opening and were excited about trying it. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. The salsa was so watery that it had no taste at all, but the food was absolutely horrible. I got a shrimp faitia, they brought it to me on a plate instead of the cast iron hot plate and the portions were not as expected. My husband basically had a glorified hot dog and veggie meal. No flavor in the rice or beans. The water had things floating in the glass. My tea tasted horrible like it was spoiled. The service was less than adequate. Our waitress was more interested in the other workers and her phone instead of her job and she and the other workers were sitting up front with their phones, laptops, and tablets. I am really disappointed in our experience here. We will not be back.
