Wow, yum!! Unexpectedly awesome sushi in such a great location upcountry in between everything. A very awesome and diverse menu with a little bit of everything combination wise, great service, great payment system… with the star clearly being the amazing food… delicious… we need to keep going back (and will now that we’ve discovered it) to try everything on the menu eventually… a stand out of our meal tonight was the Haleakala Roll… I want another right now! See you again soon

We got there at 5p and it opens at 430p. Not busy at all perfect time. Place gets really busy and by 6p it was crowded. We ordered appetizers, Tako Maki one of the specials of the evening…very delicious,…shrimp and veggie tempura….tasty, and the Spicy Hamach roll….it was good, although not spicy at all. Nice amount of food for a light satisfying meal for two. As the restaurant got busier, it was harder to get the attention of our server. Nice outdoor seating even on a windy rainy evening!

Stopped in late and were seated right away! Our waiter was quick to take our order. We got the rainbow roll and the crunchy spicy tuna which we both very good! We also order the haleakala but weren’t a big fan of it. Three rolls and our total was around $50

We came here after the Haleakala sunset. It was one of the few places opened as many places in Maui close really early. Wasn’t many people in here when we came so parking wasn’t an issue. Service was good. A little pricey.
-red tiger roll 3/5
-ahi poke 3/5
-kula roll 4/5
-haleakala roll 5/5

Overall, Kojima’s was decent. We got the spicy edamame, Kojimas roll, and one of the rolls on special… it was the shrimp tempura roll with other things on top. I forgot to take pictures when the food arrived, but caught a few while we were eating. The edamame and shrimp roll were really good… and I don’t usually like rolls with tempura. The Kojimas roll was not very good. The whole thing was mushy… no balance in texture. And all we could taste was the jalapeño on top. We both like VERY spicy food, but spice has to be balance… this was not.
As far as service goes, the host who seated us was welcoming and friendly. Our server though, had no interest in interacting with us AT ALL. But, we got everything we ordered and in a timely fashion. So, service was adequate but certainly not overly friendly.
No alcohol here, but they do allow/encourage you to BYOB.

Foods ok. Its pretty basic s3ating, and smiles from the staff are hard earned. If you do a phone in order, wait 45 min before going to pick up your food.

I don’t know how to rate a place that has the best sushi I’ve had in Maui, but still didn’t hold up to my normal standards. The fish was a bit pungent (as it normally is in Hawaii) & i didn’t like the uni at all–it’s usually my favorite. I had to mask all my bites with soy/wasabi which is the bar i set that defines amazing sushi (it tastes amazing by itself.) The atmosphere & service was superb.
