PIXCA originally comes from the ancient Mayan language refers to the word harvest. Much like the harvest, we keep our menu seasonal. Our chefs create new menus every season of the year, along with weekly specials to match the new season’s produce. Our dream was always to have a restaurant where we could cook with what’s available and without having to waste.
We started working with local farms about 6 years ago in multiple different restaurants but always dreamed of having our own. All this time we have been building our relationships with our local farmers and finally, we are now able to offer beautiful dishes using the freshest of ingredients and always with a smile on our faces. Because if our customers are happy, we too, are happy.

Our favorite restaurant on the North Shore. Menu changes based on what’s in season keeping things interesting. Cocktails are creative and delicious with generous pours. Try the Mezcal Old Fashioned. Can’t say enough about the food. We love the calamari and mussels. You can’t go wrong with any of the entrees but standouts are the whitefish, prime burger and duck. They also have some nice vegetarian options like the popcorn cauliflower. Definitely recommend making a reservation as the place fills up fast on certain days. Ambiance is like a typical bistro; tables are close together but very cozy. All the staff treat you like family once you walk in. There is an open kitchen concept which makes it fun to sit at the bar to see the action. This restaurant is also close to Ravinia Festival and Chicago Botanic Gardens.

I’m a little bummed that I can only give four stars to Pixca. I have wanted to come here ever since they opened, and I heard and read a lot of good things about the place and the chef, so maybe my expectations were set a little too high. First the good: the service here is really nice, both the hostess and our waitress were attentive and friendly. We came on a Saturday night and the restaurant was packed. Definitely make a reservation. The decor is nothing to call home about. It’s a small space and the tables are so close to each other that the waitress had to move our table when the people next to us were leaving (and even then the backside of the gentleman squeezing through was rubbing on the side of our table, about 6 inches from my chicken). As a result it’s incredibly loud. Definitely not for first dates. The food was really good, I had the chicken, my friend had the burger, and we had a side order of the coffee glazed carrots – this was really tasty. However, I was not a fan of the plating at all. Dark table, dark plates and on my plate the roast chicken with mushrooms had no bright colors to contrast or pop. There was a sad slice of citrus on top – reminding me of all the missed opportunities to make the dish look pretty. It tasted good though. The burger also didn’t look great (although my friend said it tasted fantastic). The coffee glazed carrots also weren’t dressed up at all – they were delicious for sure but not the least appetising visually. I will return to try other dishes and I heard the brunch is where Pixca shines.

I hosted a group of 20 singles on a Tuesday night for a Fall Dinner & Wine Pairing, and everyone loved it. The vibe was so cozy and the food was delicious. Fernando the Executive Chef took great care of us… even those who drove in from the city were impressed! The staff was amazing. Our guests switched seats before they brought out the entrees and they managed to make it all work. We will be back!

Phenomenal brunch, there were only high praises from all. Relaxed andw welcoming atmosphere, we stayed past the kitchen closing, but wasn’t rushed through our meal at all. Glad we finally made it to Pixca! We’ve been enjoying them at the Highwood markets, but this is the first time we’ve been to the restaurant. Everything was delicious. I’d especially recommend the duck and the asparagus fries! Cocktails were also stellar, especially the burnt orange manhattan. The staff was attentive and the service was excellent. Already planning our return!

Chilaquiles, eggs Benedict, veggie omelette, breakfast quesadilla and I had the shakshuka. Perhaps because a few days ago I was at a Mediterranean restaurant with a v delicious version of this dish, the firm texture of the chick peas in the tomato stew too much contrast to the softer cook of the eggs. The quesadilla also needed an element of spice. Cinnamon roll was a nice sweet ending to the brunch.

We came here for dinner with another couple. The service was good, but at first, he was in the weeds a bit, but it normalized as we progressed.
The food was delicious, and their burger, was a total surprise. Good food all around
Also, we sat outside since it was a beautiful evening, but it is a nice restaurant that is busy. Really nice atmosphere.
I will definitely be dining here again in the future.
