This is an incredibly authentic Taiwanese breakfast. It tastes just like the flavors from the corner shop near my home in Taiwan I highly recommend the Spicy Original Purple Burrito with Soy Milk Black Tea, such an awesome combo. The pork floss takes me right back to my childhood, adding just the right touch of saltiness. The combination of sauerkraut, pickled radish, and shortbread fritter creates a perfect crunch, while the braised egg is the cherry on top. Everything comes together so harmoniously. This is exactly the kind of meal I crave whenever I’m feeling homesick. It’s on a more expensive side though as the portion isn’t as big as it was:(

Wow, this was worse than I was expecting, and I was braced for it to be bad. Expensive, tiny portions, and open for very few hours a day – and those were its best features!

Nothing like my dad used to make, the rice balls are now premade, so there isn’t a long wait anymore. But this means they are lukewarm at best (and I went pretty early so don’t tell me I was there too late).

They are even smaller than I thought based on other photos with people’s hands (maybe they just had baby hands).

They are disgustingly sweet. Like I had 2 bites and got sweeted out. No dessert for me tonight. 🙁

The yiao tieu inside are rock hard like they’re a month old and stolen out the trash behind 99 Ranch. It cut the roof of my mouth after just the first bite.

The rice isn’t sticky enough and is the wrong texture.

The dau jeung – 30% sweet, apparently – isn’t the worst I’ve had. But low sugar Vitasoy is better and cheaper.

And the unfriendly sign about paying for the decorative display if you break anything on it is unnecessarily confrontational. If you’re that worried about it, put it in a glass case. Or don’t have it at all. There’s nowhere to sit and wait; put a bench there and stop worrying about your precious wooden eggs.

Both white riceburrito and purple riceburrito tasted delicious and authentic. The Chinese donut inside was very crispy and tasty; combined with the pork floss and pickled radish, it’s perfect. The soy milk and soy milk black tea were just fine. And it’s quite pricey.
There is no dine-in seating in the store and the service was not needed. The order can be placed online or through the kiosk in the store.

I love it here. If I could eat the fan tuans here every day I would. I have been ordering delivery often while working from home.

My go-to order is the purple crunchy rice burrito with soy milk. It’s nutritious, filling and healthy. It stimulates digestion because of the fresh ingredients and pickles from Taiwan.

I have been to Taiwan twice and it is food heaven there. Xiaoman provides meals that are authentically Taiwanese. They remind me of the breakfast you can find walking down the street along Taiwan— fresh soy milk everywhere. Xiaoman is one of the few places with authentic Taiwanese food in the Bay Area. It’s hard to find good ones. The price point is not bad for the Bay Area. I believe they try to keep prices low and give a lot within the fan tuan itself.

The shop itself is very clean and you can also order in person. Service is pretty quick and they are often busy here.

As the other reviews have said, the food tastes great, but is incredibly overpriced. I would rate it five stars if the rice burritos cost 4 to 5 dollars. Maybe enough for lunch for someone with a small apetite. You order at the counter and receive your food pretty quickly. No seating and just take out… you can totally eat with friends on the curb. I heard from a friend that the soymilk is just soymilk, and they charge 5 dollars for it.

Interesting & small spot. Takeout-only. I think you can order via their website. Alternatively, there is a kiosk in-store.

Unexpectedly really tasty. Got the purple rice crispy roll. Everything melded together really well. The flavour from the pork floss, to the crunch and added texture from the deep fried Chinese doughnut and the extra bite from the seasoned egg.

Worth trying once. Wouldn’t pay another $11 for a second. It’s a nice snack and the service is quick, but for a bit more, you could just get a real meal.

This is Taiwanese style rice ball but they called burrito .

Order at front by machine, then call your number when your order is ready .

Rice cooked very well , soft but texture , inside with Chinese crispy donut , and roasted egg ( half ) , and I added Meat floss$1 + , size is not that big , donut broken into small pieces ….$9.90

With Soymilk black tea , set price $17.50

It’s delicious but Overpriced and not worth it.

Not sure why it has such good reviews. Overpriced for a fist-size rice ball with not much fillings of tiny bit of pork flakes, little bit of braised egg and not much flavors. No dining area only take outs.

Food was mediocre and overpriced. Almost $30 for two rice rolls and 1 soy bean milk. Get the same thing at Marina foods for half the price and better taste. Not even a place to sit in the store to eat.

You would have to be sick and twisted to come up with a name like “Xiaoman Riceburrito”. That is just wrong. I have come up with a new name that would be great. “His Highness Micheal Bobaguard’s Restaurant With Corn Fritters And Extra Meat” And please, stop denying my brunch. Your manager already learnt a lesson, there’s a reason he’s had a black eye for 37 days.
