This place is amazing!! A true hidden gem. The food was delicious, the menu was smaller, so you know the food was fresh, and Jessica, our server, was absolutely the best server. She was so kind and attentive and took the time to learn our names. It was a great experience all around, the 4 of us had amazing food for under $80

Who’d’ve thought our humble neighborhood would sport a French restaurant of such decent quality?! I was very pleasantly surprised — though some in our company had been here before. The food was great. Beef stroganoff was great (Wasn’t what I ordered, but my wife’s leftovers were delicious even the next day!), a friend obviously LOVED his Coq au Vin because there was nary a hint of flesh left on the bones when he was done. My salmon was wonderful, too — seared with just a hint of crispiness on top and perfectly cooked, on a lavish bed of dill cream puree (garnished with seeds I didn’t recognize), with sides of yummy Alfredo pasta and “roasted root” vegetables cooked, serendipitously, just as soft/hard as I happen to like them. And the almost literal icing on the cake was the very competent tiramisu the waitress brought on (which wasn’t even charged for) when she learned it was my wife’s birthday we were celebrating.

This is an exceptional restaurant and such a great find. It’s one of our favorite places to eat and everything there is top quality and so affordable. I hope they never close and please tell everyone you know there is a place to go in San Jose that is a taste of Europe and we are so lucky to have this wonderful establishment.

This place is a ridiculously great hidden gem. I’m tempted to say it was great for the price because the prices are so reasonable but that wouldn’t be accurate. The food is terrific at any price. And quality wine at $5 a pour!! My girlfriend and I had great dinners and wine and spent less than $70. Oh, and our server, Jessica, was delightful and so attentive. Go!

Relaxing place with delicious food. Not too busy at lunch, which means a nonstressful atmosphere with a big wall of windows for good light in the afternoon. The service is friendly, and food comes out quickly. They don’t rush you once you do have your meal. The salads are huge, a full meal. The Greek salad, pictured with shrimp, can also be made with chicken or beef or meat substitute or no meat at all. I’ve only had their French Onion soup, which has lots of cheese, but not enough onion for me. The shrimp is the best thing I have had here. It is perfectly fried in a light batter that gives it just enough crunch without taking away from the taste of the shrimp. You can substitute any of the sides for the regular chips if you choose to do so. I always sub the chips with sweet potato fries. When we were seated, the table was given bread with homemade orange marmalade with honey – wonderful!

We loved this place (and the chef’s parents are the nicest people), but if they’re never going to have the garlic shrimp ever again, we’ve lost the reason we go here (and our reason for living, lol)

What a sweet little place within a small and uncrowded strip mall. I had beef stroganoff, green beans and beignets. The waitstaff was present, attentive and kind. I was gladly surprised to hear there was a promotion of a free glass of wine with an entree. The stroganoff was good, the beef was high quality and lean. The pasta might have been handmade, it was delicate. Not like regular noodles. I look forward to the leftovers tomorrow. I ate the ENTIRE plate of beignets myself. My best constructive comment is that the ambience, ie: the physical space, is on the lesser end in comparison to the quality of the food and service. I would definitely recommend Bistro Tupaz.

Bistro Tupaz was a nice surprise. It is a restaurant in a small shopping mall of Santa Teresa serving French and European dishes. I had a bavette steak you don’t easily find in restaurants and it was delicious. Even if it was slightly overcooked, the meat was tender and tasty. Cassoulet was great. We had fresh beignets for dessert, a true treat with warm chocolate sauce. Friendly service, as it was my husband’s birthday we also left with an extra raspberry pie at no charge. Highly recommended for good food without breaking your budget.

Good food. Good service, even though there were less vegetarian options they gave us Burger with veggie patty and vegetarian pasta. Burger with veggie patty was really good.
