The food was amazing and left our bellies so happy. We started with the fried chicken wings and the fried jumbo shrimp, and both were on point. For the mains, we ordered the fried catfish dinner with black-eyed peas and greens, the 1/2 fried chicken dinner with mac and sweet potato mash, and our son went with the fried buffalo chicken sandwich. Everything we tried was delicious.
He even makes his own dipping sauces and hot sauces, which just takes it to another level. We’re definitely going back!
I am still thinking about the food from this restaurant — that’s how good it was! The seafood is truly outstanding. I ordered the crab cakes, and let me tell you… they were packed with flavor, incredibly juicy, and honestly some of the best I’ve ever tasted. Absolute perfection.
The mac and cheese was everything you want comfort food to be — creamy, cheesy, and full of flavor. But the real scene-stealer on my plate? The crispy Brussels sprouts. Whatever magic sauce they put on those things needs to be bottled immediately. I didn’t just eat them… I practically inhaled them.
My friend ordered the fried white fish and jumbo shrimp, and WOW — crispy, fresh, and seasoned perfectly. The collard greens were tender and delicious, and the red beans and rice were super flavorful and comforting.
The food alone makes this place worth visiting, but the service elevates it even more. It’s a Black-owned restaurant, and everyone working there is warm, friendly, and genuinely makes you feel appreciated as a customer. That kind of hospitality sticks with you.
If you’re anywhere near this place — go! And if you’re not, make the trip. It’s absolutely worth it. I can’t wait to come back!
The food takes 20-25 minutes to be served and I am petfectly fine with that because it it made to order. Check them out. The owner is very attentive and provides great service!
Soooo good. The “Not So Dirty Vegan Rice” is out of this world. Not to mention the sweet potato cornbread. *insert meme of Jenifer Lewis fainting. And the Banana Pudding!! My dad got the “5-piece Fish Plate” with Greens and Macaroni Cheese. It was sooo good he devoured his food and then ordered it again to-go. Lol My mom ordered the “Dark Chicken Dinner” with Yams and Red Rice. She’s a hard critic but she let us know she absolutely loved everything. She even enjoyed the slice of pickle and pepper garnish lol I tasted everyone’s food and it was ALL FIRE. I am a new regular here. Thanks Chef!
Honestly all the sides were super good, I could rave about the collard greens, black eyed peas, & hush puppies. Catfish & fried chicken were also super crispy & delicious. Huge portions, very reasonable price for the quality of the food.
Our group ordered:
– 6pcs Chicken Drums sticks w/ Mac & Cheese, Hush puppies (really good)
– Cat Fish(my favorite) & Onion Rings
– Cat Fish & collard greens, black eyed peas, & candied yams.
Chris the owner was super friendly and gave us good recommendations. Would definitely come back
