This place is typically very good. Not sure what happened tonight but the salmon is WAY over cooked. Dryer than yah muddah. I couldn’t eat it even though it was absolutely SMOOTHERED in pepper jelly. No thanks.

Everything else is great: rice and peas, plantain, Mac and cheese, pepper steak, and cabbage. I’ll try again another time but I hope this isn’t the salmon’s new recipe.

The food was on point!! I had the oxtail and my husband has the jerk! Oxtail was rich in flavor, small amount of heat and the gravy was nice on the rice and peas! The jerk had the heat you expect! Highly recommend this place!

I recently had the pleasure trying great food and it was an experience worth sharing. From the moment I walked in, the warm, welcoming atmosphere set the tone for what would be a flavorful and satisfying meal.

I ordered the classic jerk chicken which was smoky, tender, and packed with just the right amount of heat. Curry chicken, The spices had clearly been marinated deeply into the meat, giving each bite a rich, authentic taste. Paired with rice and peas and steamed cabbage, the dish felt hearty and true to its roots.

The fried plantains were a sweet contrast to the spice of the mains — caramelized just right. I finished off the meal with a cold glass of sorrel, which was refreshing and spiced with hints of ginger and cloves.

Service was friendly and attentive. The staff clearly take pride in the food and the culture they’re sharing.

Whether you’re craving a spicy kick, a soulful stew, or just a comforting plate of island favorites, this spot delivers. Highly recommended for anyone wanting an authentic Jamaican.

Hands down the best Jamaican restaurant in the area! We ordered the stewed chicken, island fried chicken with oxtail gravy and fried plantain… 5/5

First time ordering, definitely not the last. I ordered on Doordash. Their customer service is so good that they called me to ask which gravy to put on the chicken. JUST WOW!!!!

As someone from the Caribbean who knows good food, I can confidently say this place was amazing. The flavors were authentic—real Jamaican taste, just like home-cooked food. I was with friends from Kenya, and they even said it reminded them of the food back home. Truly comforting, flavorful, and satisfying. I’ll definitely be back if I’m ever in town again.

Got jerk chicken with plantains and cabbage. Cabbage could be a bit more flavorful but still a good choice as a healthy option, the jerk chicken was great. I would have preferred more plantains it being the second side but the taste was great. Also ordered a side of Mac and cheese, I liked it but be aware that it will have a bit of the jerk flavoring if you are expecting the usual southern style Mac and cheese. Definitely will return and will bring others. Oh and the amount of food for the price is hreat

While passing through Virginia, I was craving Jamaican food and decided to stop at this restaurant after seeing how close it was to me. I ordered the oxtail plate with cabbage and rice and peas. Unfortunately, the meal was extremely disappointing and not worth the $25 price. The cabbage lacked flavor, and while the rice and peas were decent, the oxtails were nearly inedible. They were very tough and rubbery, and so I wasn’t able to get even eat them. As someone who was very hungry after traveling, this was particularly frustrating. If I lived nearby, I would have returned the meal and requested a refund. Overall, this experience was very disappointing.

It was my first time eating here and it won’t be the last. I got there before they closed and got the chicken curry with rice, cabbage and plantains. It was absolutely amazing, the flavors and heat spot on. The portions are generous for the price. The owner was very nice and helpful. Don’t let this one go without trying.

This place is amazing! It’s my first time trying Jamaican food altogether and the experience was top tier! I got the curry shrimp with cabbage and plantain. Everything was cooked to perfection and the portion size is worth every penny! Lloyd and Don were so nice and gave us knowledge on everything they had. They also gave my friend and I chicken and veggie patties on the house! Such amazing people! Please stop by this quaint spot!
