Absolutely delicious spot! Came on a Sunday night and was able to easily get a table without waiting. The service was great, very attentive. Food was excellent, we enjoyed everything we had! We had 3 sushi rolls, a chicken teriyaki plate and a yakiniku plate. The plates were a ton of food for an amazing price of $14! Huge portion of meat, with rice, salad, and miso soup. Yum! Our favorite roll was the Jessica Alba-core. Obsessed with the name haha. We live nearby and are thrilled to have a quaint, easy to dine Japanese restaurant with bomb food just around the corner from us at the Harbor. We’ll be back!

Near flawless sushi experience from start to finish. My nieces enjoyed their rolls, karage, deep fried tofu, gyoza while I enjoyed the Nigiri sushi plate. Will definitely be back again soon!!

Amazing and fresh. I always leave there full, blissfully happy and looking forward to coming back soon! Delicious, traditional, high quality, fresh food! My go to for sushi! Service is great and so are the prices.

Food was not bad, but I didn’t give it 5 stars simply because other sushi locations seemed to have an small edge or zest in the flavor that seemed to not be present with this one particular experience. Though it’s only my first time at this location.

I will definitely be back because this location happens to be within walking distance of my current residence. That being said, this location meets all the expectations I would look for out of a local spot, plus the staff were attentive to my needs without smothering me, other customers were openly willing to talk with the Chefs at the bar and the Chefs in return were sociable and pleasant.

I would definitely recommend this location as a good, fresh feeling spot with little to distract from the actual experience itself.

I would easily bring a friend or family member here, but if I wanted to provide some kind of extra special sushi experience, I may choose to go to a different location. Honestly, I hope that doesn’t sway eaters to go elsewhere because the difference between this location receiving 5 stars vs. 4 is almost negligible. If I were to accurately score it, i would consider this location a solid 4.9.

I don’t believe any standard or typical diner would be displeased.

I asked for a recommendation for a sake and was provided what turned out to be a perfect pairing for my current needs. Which in this moment was a hard days work in a train yard, and I am completely satisfied.

I ordered the hamachi cut roll, a salmon skin hand roll, fresh Wasabi, and a bottle of kurosawa cold sake.

Second trip a few weeks later.

I ordered a basic hamachi cut roll, Japanese pickles a large Sapporo, and fresh Wasabi.

I love that they have fresh Wasabi.

The Japanese pickles are interesting they have very earthy notes, almost like a yerba mate.

All in all, it’s obvious this is a local location, and it’s significantly busier than last time, but still I was able to walk in and sit at the bar with no problem.

Honestly, it’s just a nice low-key sushi bar. Like a local dive bar, but not grimy.

I could come here in sweats or dressed too impress and I’d feel completely comfortable.

Simple and Good feeling.

Total damage on 2nd visit $15 and some change.

Third visit

Tonkotsu Ramen, Salmon cut roll, fresh Wasabi, and a large Sapporo

Under 30 bucks minus the tip. Shared between 2 male diners, my son and myself.

Ramen was good, not the best, but definitely worth it.

so so so… we got lost in this neighborhood and tried their food, and it was amazing! The sashimi is sooooo good and paired with the octopus seaweed salad! And I told myself not to include the Hamachi kama but I’ve had my share of hamachi kama all over the world and so far, this is the best one. You’re welcome HB.

This was a very surprising find. It was in the same strip mall as my daughter’s optometrist. Their version of baked salmon roll is enough for me to return and try all their dishes.

There is no need to eat fast food with their lunch menu! Real whole foods versus ultra-processed, cancer causing!

2024 update:
Unfortunately this place quality has significantly dropped, every time we go we get tummy aches. We finally had enough and will not be going back.

2022 review: Yummy sushi!
The bolsa chica roll and the pink lady roll are both great!

The sashimi salad is incredible!!

This place is so amazing. The fish they get is such high quality. I come here all the time, I’d eat here every day if I could! The servers are super nice and fast. And the sushi chefs are so talented. I love everything on their menu but I high recommend getting the Signature Albacore Special (in my picture). It is so flavorful and mouth watering. I get like 3 of these every time I go!! Only thing is I wish they had more seating, they are always so busy and have very few seats. But they are definitely worth the wait!!

Nice dim ambience for a date. Tried this out for something new. Good yummy sushi. I always go for Sweet Shrimp and their shrimp heads were nicely deep fried it was crisp and easy to chew. They were out of Tuna Toro sushi so suggested Black cod sushi, one of their specials for the day. And no regrets there. Slightly torched not ruining the fish and a dash of rock salt and sauce was perfect. Will come back for that.

Some of the freshest fish I’ve experienced. Fish quality reminds me of the fish market in Japan honestly! Well priced. At first I was debating getting the blue crab handroll for $9.50 – but it was huuge! So much crab they definitely don’t skimp here. Salmon was almost a buttery texture. Toro was sooo fresh and came with a surprise of a little bit more with scallion on top! Delish! Not pictured but if you like popcorn chicken, order their chicken karaage, with less salt!

Note the salmon nigiri + toro nigiri had a little bit of wasabi underneath the fish and on top of the rice bed. If you don’t like wasabi make sure to tell your server.
