Scratch is a food cart next to Tap Union House. I’m not interested in vegan food. When I see a place is vegan, my M.O. is to keep scrolling. I have a few good friends who are vegan who’ve dragged me to places they rave about, saying they’re “as good as the real thing.” Every time, I’ve been disappointed. But so many people recommended Scratch’s breakfast sandwich that I decided to take one for the team and review it.
I was amazed that this vegan sandwich was not only okay—it was excellent. The flavor was fantastic, and the combination of ingredients worked beautifully together. The hash brown helped in a big way, and the pepper cheese sauce had a zesty kick that served as the perfect punctuation point for the ensemble. I hear great things about their burrito. I’ll try it and update this review. Street parking is available. -VanPort Insider

Great food. The burrito availability in Portland is severely lacking but coming to Vancouver for Scratch is well worth it. The burrito is so good and there is plenty to do in Vancouver. While it can be busy at times, it is in a location where parking and walking is convenient. Online ordering is simple and the people working have been really nice in the times I have visited. Highly recommend, be patient if there is a wait, and get a great burrito and hash brown.

One of THE best vegan breakfast spots to hit, even if you live in Portland! You can never go wrong with the Scratch Burrito and the Dolgona coffee is very dangerous, be aware of its deliciousness.
Adding the new winter menu as of Dec. 28 2025!

Delicious! The food is so flavorful and feels healthy to eat. Portions are small compared to most restaurants but just the right amount to feel satisfied. Really wonderful!

Loved this place! We stopped here for breakfast on our way to the airport. It was perfect for a quick breakfast outside. We ordered a French toast to share, an egg muffin, and a breakfast burrito. I would eat everything again! The French toast was perfect – flavorful and not too sweet.

We were just passing through and heard Scratch was good but didn’t know it was a food truck. We were skeptical but gave it a shot because my girlfriend is vegetarian. She had the biscuits and gravy and I had the burrito. This place was awesome! Food was delicious and a big portion. They let you wait for your food in the taphouse or on the patio (which has heaters), which is nice.

Bro this was easily the best brekky burrito Ive had in the PNW. Run quick and get you some. Be warned theres a BIT of a wait but this is worth every minute spent.
Also 100% the best sourdough Ive ever had. I do not know where you got your mother from but I would pay for that information, ELITE sourdough bread.

Ordered the scratch burrito with avocado and verde salsa, and the pretzel bun breakfast sandwich. I wish there was a cart in Portland, we’d be frequent visitors. We were just passing through. Give this place your business. 100% vegan menu. Loved how small the menu was which made each item really feel intentional. Cold brew was also tasty!
