I was traveling from Virginia to North Carolina with my parents, and since they can’t eat anywhere but Indian food, we decided to stop by Taste of India. Even though we arrived just 4 minutes before closing, the staff—especially the ladies—were incredibly kind and helpful. They gladly took our order without any rush or hesitation, which really touched us. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of authentic flavors. It honestly felt like a home-cooked meal away from home. Their hospitality and kindness made our visit extra special. A true must-visit for anyone who loves Indian food or is traveling through the area!

Decided to try Taste of India as it was nearby and we were looking for Indian cuisine. For our entree we ordered butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, and received rice with the meal. The garlic naan was the standout and was prepared great. The two curry dishes were alright. The chicken itself was tough to chew rather than being tender, despite it being in the curry sauce. Portions were good for the price as well. For the most part, the service was good, and we were checked on from time to time. The only issue was we only received exactly 1 individual napkin each, and when asking for more we once again received only 1 individual napkin despite clearly needing more. Overall, was a solid option for dinner and Indian food.

Good food and great service. They will provide the spice level you like for the food. Reasonable prices and good quantities. Many vegetarian options and dishes to order from.

Taste of India is one of the few restaurants I frequent in town because of its delicious cuisine. From the appetizers such as the tasty chicken chilli and pakora to the entrees of chicken korma, curry, tandoori and the yummy drinks like chai tea and lassi, you can’t go wrong and you can tailor the heat level. As someone who’s lived in Goa, India I can attest to authenticity of the flavor served at Taste. Both Umma & Prashant are welcoming faces that remember their guest’s favorite meals and ensure that their orders are right.

While the exterior of this restaurant looks nondescript, it is beautifully decorated inside with traditional elements. The food was out of this world. We ordered the sample appetizer platter and the garlic naan to start with. I ordered a dish with lamb that’s marinated for 24 hours and my taste buds were singing the hallelujah chorus – spices were on point. My husband ordered a chicken curry dish which was rich and delicious. The wait staff are friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend dining in for a date night or a to go order for a delicious night in!

We had a lovely evening – it was a quiet night at the restaurant so service was attentive and prompt. The best butter chicken we’ve ever had. Korma, palak, and tikka were all delicious. The naan was tender and buttery. They had a great selection of chaats and specials I wish we had tried!

My fiancé took me to taste of India on our trip to Massanutten. This is the first time I sat down and had dinner at an Indian restaurant in years. She such a wonderful person for surprising me. The venue was nice and our host was fantastic. The food was divine I have the lamb curry and she had the mango chicken. We both share the vegetable Samosa as an appetizer which comes with a red sauce and green. The mango chicken was better than my lamb curry I have to admit. I was please of the quality of food. I look forward to going back.

This place is such a hidden gem. It’s my son’s choice every, single, time. It’s so flavorful and the portion sizes are more than enough. Service is friendly and fast and the atmosphere is charming. Whether you love Indian food or have never tried it, I highly recommend checking it out. All of the negative reviews are literally local completion being petty, so I wouldn’t even listen. Just stop what you’re doing and go grab some Chicken Tikka Masala!!!!

Save yourself the trouble and don’t go there. Terrible food, rude customer service. We ordered Samosa Chaat chicken for appetisers, but both were okay at best. But the real down was Biriyani, which tasted and smell horrible.
Even more disappointing was how the female staff attended to our complain. She said that probably we were not hungry or probably we did not know how to Biriyani taste since we were north Indians. We were taken back by these comments because we were not ready for engaging at this level.

The food here is awesome. It is really authentic. It reminded me of my childhood friend from Sri Lanka sharing her mother’s dishes with us.
