Wow! Wow! Wow! Easily the Best BBQ I have ever eaten! A food “Trailer” that is doing everything right! A simple menu that is playful yet adequate filled with bursts of flavor. (My personal favorite is the BBQ parfait.) The Smoked meet is perfectly tangy, spicy, and sweet; cooked just right. The kids loved the Funnel Fries, and the Redneck Fries were EPIC. Even the fries used in all the items were Perfect, crunchy seasoned crust with a soft and moist middle. Absolutely nothing about this place was flawed, it’s truly authentic fun family street food…. Well done, well done….

Was looking forward to what would have been a taste experience by Spare Parts BBQ when their food truck was scheduled to come out to our event at KOA today, however they cancelled at the last minute (yesterday afternoon) leaving our entire event in the lurch. We’re now struggling to find an alternative, and they are claiming they never canceled. I would reconsider their service based on this. Canceling is one thing, but then lying on other reviews and saying they never canceled is inexcusable.

((In response to Spare Parts reply on my review—I am NOT mistaken. You were SUPPOSED to be at our event in 2021, but CANCELLED before our event, leaving us hanging. There are MANY of our attendees that remember eating pizza from the camp store because you canceled and did not give us ample time to find a substitute.))
According to Merriam-Webster, the word “ample” is defined as generous or more than adequate in size, scope, or capacity. Notifying the KOA OBX West Campground close of business on Tuesday for an event on Friday is not what I consider “ample” time to find a food truck to replace you. That left us two days to find a replacement, of which all the other food trucks were already booked. I am sorry YOU put the wrong date on your calendar. That is not the campground’s fault. All along they have had the correct date (we had confirmed with them several times prior to our weekend event.) Also, when has the campground EVER scheduled your food truck for a Thursday event? Never! I believe you had a better offer for Friday, and decided to ditch us last minute, as you have done in the past.
You mentioned in a response to one of the reviewers that you had worked with us the past two years at the KOA OBX West Campground. Yes, October 2022 is accurate. October 2021 is a lie. Even though we had you booked months in advance, you cancelled with us last minute in 2021. Once again, we were left scrambling to find a replacement for your last-minute cancellation, of which we did not. Our attendees ended up eating pizza from the camp store. I know a lot of our attendees were looking forward to your food truck two years ago and this past weekend. It caused a lot of stress the night before the event to our coordinator when he was left scrambling to find a company that could provide food for our attendees. Many of them that had flown from out-of-state and were depending on your food truck to provide dinner Friday night. Currituck BBQ came to our rescue last minute and provided us with what I personally think is the best BBQ in Currituck County. We are very much appreciative to their understanding, professional staff, and will use them for all future events. I do not normally give out 1-star reviews, but yours is well-deserved.

Dishonest business that cancels last minute on events. Not the first time, either. Highly disappointing and would not recommend.
EDIT: We had Spare Parts booked for at least a year in advance for this event. Additionally, they also cancelled last minute on our event two years ago. So the response from the business owner is more deceitful lies, and not even an apology. Terrible way to run a business.

These people canceled on an event I regularly attend. And instead of coping to their error, they’re shifting the blame where it doesn’t belong.
Pro tip- if you’re going to claim that someone gave you the wrong date, make sure there’s no 3rd party in the loop as a neutral witness

Spare Parts was contracted to provide their food truck for our group event tonight, but they cancelled on us yesterday, literally at the last minute, leaving us with few options to replace them. They are not dependable at all, and very unprofessional, as they are outright lying to another reviewer about this.
