What a great dive bar! I stopped into Tony’s Sports Bar in Ferndale today and had an awesome time. Our bartender, Maddie, was absolutely fantastic — friendly, attentive, and went way above and beyond to make sure everyone was taken care of. I was just here for drinks, but I kept hearing people rave about the food, so I’ll definitely be back to try it next time. The atmosphere is laid-back, the people are genuine, and it’s exactly the kind of neighborhood spot you want to hang out in. Highly recommend!

I came in here a few days ago for a quick beer. It was $5 for a tall labatt which seemed kind of high. As far as their food, their menu wasn’t too deep. The waitress also said that everything was deep-fried.

The atmosphere was okay. There is old memorabilia on the wall, which is kind of neat. There is also a little game room in the back. No pool table though, which I mentioned would go good at this place.

The place could use a remodel though, as it does kind of feel a little rundown.

Overall, it seems like a really chill place to drink beer and eat some bar food.

I live in Upstate NY, a friend lives close by. Absolutely we go there everytime I come into town. Usually we’ll meet friends or family here for good beer & drinks, along with absolutely fantastic bar food! Fried baloney sandwiches, love em! My personal favorite, by special request, are tater tots covered with chili, cheese and chopped onions! Add Miller Genuine Draft, The Champagne of Beer’s and I’m in heaven.

The other part that seals the deal as “my” Detroit hangout are the people that work here. Every time I walk in the door, it’s like I never left. Everyone makes sure you feel welcome, and the crowd always adds to the ambiance. If you’ve never been, you owe it to yourself to stop in, have a beer & some fantastic bar food.

Cheers!

I couldn’t stay. I walked in and smelled human urine. You walk in to a waft of what you’d think was mildew. And somehow it got worse sitting in the actual bar. Never again.

Great location, solid food, nice atmosphere…other than the lighting. The main room has these awful fluorescent lights that kill the vibe. Feels like I’m in math class or the doctors office or something.

There is absolutely no atmosphere. Bartender was somewhat attentive. Draft beer didn’t taste fresh and was also not very cold. Definitely better places to go in Ferndale.

Great low-key neighborhood bar. Fantastic patio outside – darts inside. I love their chili and a modelo on a rainy day.

The cute young bartender guy made this “Arnold Palmer” green tea shot that was so good that I’m still thinking about it to this day. I need the recipe again. I drunk the shot so fast, I couldn’t get a picture. The sliders were good too.
