The roots of the restaurant date back to more than 30 years, when it was first established as Sweetwater’s Cafe on Euclid Avenue, in downtown Cleveland. Well- known restauranteur, Gary Lucarelli, later moved the restaurant to a vibrant mall- the Galleria. Now, a re-envisioned restaurant resides in a beautiful, contemporary glass-front location along bustling East 9th Street, under the name Sausalito on Ninth. Sausalito is very excited to be opening their second location in the city of Kirtland, Ohio. Bringing high-quality, local Ohio cuisine that is prepared and served by staff who genuinely care about quality and service. Sausalito Kirtland also boasts a curated wine and beer menu, along with hand-crafted original cocktails.

This was our first time at Sausalito and we were impressed! Pulling into the restaurant was a little confusing as it’s behind the Kirtlander, so the parking lot initially looks empty. There is plenty of parking in the back and after walking in we felt like we were at home!
The restaurant was spacious and the atmosphere was inviting. The large open space had me skeptical on the noise level but it was actually pretty quiet.
We ordered 2 cocktails from the bar, the Elder Flower Collins and the Kirtland, both of which were delicious. The tomato bruschetta was amazing for a quick appetizer. I got the delicious rigatoni and my husband had the tuna poke bowl, both of which were so good! I of course had to get the cake to go (and try some before we left).
All in all, we had a great dinner and the service from our waiter was exceptional. We were in and out of the restaurant in a hour on a Thursday evening. The restaurant seating area itself could be a little more warm and inviting (think cozy fabrics or window coverings), but that barely matters compared to the food and service. We are looking forward to our next visit!

Had fantastic takeout. The Indian menu is not seen online but it is extensive. I’ve been before so I knew I wanted the vegetable korma. It was incredible. I had garlic naan to go with it. Also ordered the carrot ginger soup which couldn’t be any better. We also ordered poutine and fish fry. Where can you go and get those very different items done perfectly?!

Nice new addition to the Kirtland area…enjoyed our night at Sausalito. Food was tasty and reasonably priced…menu had good variety. There are a number of dishes we wanted to go back and try. Service was friendly and attentive. There are a lot of tables inside and a bar area. Could see a patio under construction outsude that looks like it will be very nice, away from the road and looking into a ravine. Excited to see that soon. Have been back again few times and liked everything we tried. Will be back more.

We had a great experience here. Indian buffet had great vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. My favorite was the fish curry and chicken biryani. We also ordered the lamb chops and chocolate cake which were both fantastic.

Loved the Unique and Flavorful foods offered here. Started out with the Zucchini Fries as an appetizer. They were truly what I was wanting them to be perfection! The Lobster Roll was delectable with the hoagie roll toasted just right on the outside. It had a Wonderful amount of Lobster. The Sweet potato fries were a perfect accompaniment. The regular fries were perfect for me but my husband wished they were a bit crisper. He did like his steak burger. Service was great but the atmosphere was tainted by some of its occupants and that is why I gave it 4 stars for Atmosphere.

My family had an impromptu get together here on Feb 3rd. We got there and the place was pretty busy for a Tuesday night. We were greeted by the GM (found that out later) very friendly.
The waiter was Austin, we had a big table and he was super patient and helped everyone with everything. He kept apologizing for things taking time but honestly I don’t think we waited all that long for anything.
The food was extremely well priced and the quantity was spot on. I got the salmon on bean or chick pea bed with some arugula, delicious. My cousin got a sandwhich, and it was HUGE!!! She said it was delicious. My dad got the pierogis and he loved them. He is a hard guy to please but he enjoyed himself and said he would go back again.
I am hoping to make it to the Murder Mystery night they have coming up! Great place! Great staff! Best of all GREAT FOOD!

*Entrance in the rear* – First time here, but certainly not the last. The butter chicken was amazing. The chicken was very tender and the sauce very flavorful. The short rib grilled cheese sandwich was very good. The meatq was very tender. The goat cheese and arugula salad was very good with homemade dressing. Carrot cake is amazing with great frosting. Well done and highly recommended.

Have been to Sausaltio Kirtland twice. Both times the food was excellent. Austin assisted on both of our visits. He is very friendly, attentive and will help you know exactly what to order. First time out we had Kielbasa & Perogies which were cooked to perfection, still moist and juicy. The Short Rib Pappardelle has a terrific sauce with those wide noodles. They even have a kids menu with yummy 4 cheese mac & cheese. Second visit was for our anniversary and Sausalito did not disappoint. Mussels for an appetizer. My husband loved the chicken meatloaf with mashed potatoes. My Tandoori chicken was spiced just right with peppers onions & slaw. I would highly recommend. and we will be visiting again! Restaurant has a modern atmosphere while still being reasonably priced.
