What an all around fantastic dining experience. The service and food were amazing. The egg rolls and pot stickers were some of the best ive had. The atmosphere is classic American Chinese and its delightful….our server Will was amazing and attentive and an all around great guy. My hot tea was perfect. I got thd tofu snd black mushrooms and thd mushrooms were some of the best I’ve ever tasted. This place has been around forever, and I can see why its lasted so long and its a Kane County institution.

Omg ! I just found this restaurant while traveling. The food is authentic and amazing ! Its like going to China town in Chicago without the traffic and parking issues! The vege eggroll was STUFFED ! The egg drop soup tasted amazing. The shrimp fried rice were delicious !! Im definitely coming back to try more dishes. Service was great. Great place for lunches and family gathering dinners. First time coming here and we had a really nice time. Our server was very friendly and the portion sizes are pretty big. We got fried scallops for appetizer which they were OK. Nothing special probably wouldn’t order again. The egg drop soup was very flavorful and for our entrées we got the duck and the Hong Kong steak. steak was very tender and juicy. The duck delicious would definitely come back and recommend this place for some good Chinese food.

The best Chinese restaurant in the Western Suburbs. My family has been going here since the seventies and tonight was as good as ever. The best egg rolls and egg foo young I’ve ever had. The Lee family ate still running a wonderful restaurant.

We were back after along absence, we like the food, although the chicken kow was a bit salty, overall good food. The service needs improvement, during our last visit, the waiter brought us a check with just the total written on it. It was basically written on the same piece of paper where they take the order. I asked for a detailed receipt. I was also very annoyed that a 20% tip was added without our knowledge.

Well it’s a fantastic way to destroy of Christmas Eve celebration. I call a week in advance asking if we can preorder for Christmas Eve and they tell me it will be no problem to order that day. You can expect my response when I call and they advise they are not taking any additional orders today. So I guess I will feed my 12 guests Mac n Cheese. It isn’t their first Christmas Eve.

Dined in last Sunday around 4pm with 2 other friends..were seated and menus..waited 20 minutes for server to take order..I ordered mushroom beef..it was served 15 minutes after ordered..I am not a picky eater at all..the meal tasted like a container of salt!!! It was absolutely horrible!! Ive eaten there several times in the past 30 years and I will never go back!

Hubby had a birthday and we had a wonderful time at Gen Hoe! The food was delicious as usual and best of all was that they put us in a room where we were just by ourselves. The waiter was incredibly solicitous and made sure everything was perfect.

Huge menu, so hard to choose! I absolutely loved the sesame chicken, it was a huge portion, enough to share easily among 4 people. It wasn’t cartilage like most places and had good flavor, very juicy. Egg foo young gravy could have had a bit more flavor. Overall good. Prices were high to me until I saw portion size.
