I recently visited Kumo, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience! The all-you-can-eat menu is a food lover’s dream. Each dish I tried was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. We have been coming here for many years now, and normally we like the food, but service has always been sketchy, ie wrong items in take out orders or long waits. Last night was one of those long waits. We were having friends over and my wife made a fairly large order online for take-out. We asked to have it ready at 6:15. I arrived at 6:15 to find 3 other parties waiting for their take out. It was very busy in the restaurant too. After prompting the hostess a second time I finally got my 3 bag order at 6:45! Waiting 30 minutes to pick up takeout is unacceptable! When I got home I found the sesame chicken and hawaiian chicked to be tough to cut thru because it probably sat back in the kitchen for too long. So nice job Kumo, not only did I wait 30 minutes for a take out order, but it wasn’t good when I ate it, Thanks a lot!

PS The AYCE in the sushi is probably putting a higher load on your wait staff, so maybe hiring some more on busy nights would resolve this issue.

Excellent value for an all-you-can-eat Japanese restaurant. Sushi was fresh, ingredients tasted clean, and there was a good selection of rolls and appetizers. Service was polite and efficient. Definitely a great spot for casual dining.

Went there for first time ever. Took the ACYE option. Salad was good. Soup was good. All food tasted fresh and delicious. Yakatori was good. Sashimi was good. Sushi rolls were excellent. Lots of flavor. Portions are smallish, but allows you to sample more of the menu. Felt the price point was accurate. Staff was attentive and great. Will definitely go again. Ps. Green tea was a nice complement to the meal.

This medium sized sushi restaurant is known for all you can eat sushi. My party and I took full advantage of that. Fresh sushi delivered with other menu items were just so wonderful. Service was wonderful but I do admit that the two waitresses were in charge of the floor. Those two ladies were so wonderful. I really don’t have anything negative to say about this place other than three two waitresses taking care of the customers orders, drinks from the bar, etc. Definitely gotta try this place.

This used to be a nice place, now they are just bad. We ordered some rolls for take out, and when we went there to pick our order up it was ready, but the staff was ignoring us for a long time. Finally we asked for our order yet again and they were simply unpleasant. To that add a smelly, obviously old ginger with horrible texture, tiny rolls ( they used to be normal in size, now you need a magnifying glass) and the high price!! We ordered a few spicy rolls, there was no “spice” in any of them. Avocado was greyish and slimy. The place looks dingy now, and customers are simply not there. Add it all, and you just know you’re not going back there again.

Amazing sushi place in New Milford CT. The service first of all is much much better than I expected. It was quiet on. Saturday night but they were always very attentive refilling our water much more often than needed and always being there. They were chinese and very polite people and had a great conversation with one of them. We were greeted inmediately and was seated immediately and picked dishes that looked great. We were very grateful they had cooked fish sushi because my friend doesnt like raw fish. The appetiser, takoyaki was super hot which was nice and tasted very fresh crispy and creamy delicious. The rest of the sushi came in one giant platter which was unexpected but very nice and looked much better. All of the sushi looked delicious and tasted delicious and my favourite was the spicy girl. It was the perfect texture not too soft and all the flavours balanced together very seamlessly and was such a joy to put in my mouth. The out of control was also nice but I really do NOT like the cream cheese which is too bold and dominating and takes away from the other flavours like the crab and salmon. Just a personal preference. Lastly the atmosphere felt empty and soulless because there werent many people but I definitely think it would be great when its full. In the beginning it was also uncomfortable because the temperature was quite hot for us but we got used to it. The seating was comfortable as well. Just the room could use brighter colours and a little more light. Just exceptional service (for low key restaurant) and great food at good price highly recommend.

Have been there a few times since my fiancé tried it. The food is a 5, so many delicious varieties. Definitely try the fried ice cream. It’s a great treat at the end of your meal. The price is great. Your money goes far here. There has been a long wait each time so that’s why I gave it a 4. They do a lot of takeout so it causes the dining room to wait. The waitresses always apologize and comp us with an appetizer or dessert. I’ve never said anything, they try to keep the customers happy. Restaurant is very clean. Highly recommend if in the area.

Came back since my last review and had to make this one a 5 star. Same great food with same great prices. The service was much faster this time. Apparently I’ve been here so many times the hostess knows me now. Appetizer was fried calamari with some kind of spicy dip. Not only did it taste amazing, it was at the table in less than 10 minutes of ordering. Sushi came out shortly after. 5 star rolls as usual. We enjoyed our new favorite desert, fried ice cream. We cut back on the amount of rolls we order to ensure we can order the fried ice cream. Love the new game plan. My phone actually died on me while at the table. Our server took my phone and plugged it into her charger for a few minutes. That’s going above and beyond for the customers. If in New Milford or the greater Danbury area, Kumo is a must.

Did all you can eat sushi with a party of 5 for dinner on a Saturday night. Service speed was very good although it wasn’t very crowded. Could imagine service speed slows down if it’s more crowded, but that’s expected at AYCE sushi. All the specialty rolls & kitchen items we ordered were great. Kitchen items actually seemed slower to come out compared to sushi. We mostly ordered raw (not cooked/fried) sushi. Remember to order ice cream to help digestion after eating so much sushi. Atmosphere wasn’t anything special, but wasn’t bad. Price was reasonable.
