The experience starts before you even get inside with the smell of roasting beans. Inside is friendly, welcoming, passionate staff offering a huge variety of hot and iced drinks on adorably hand-illustrated cards hung above the order counter. An assortment of locally made sweets are there to tempt you into deliciousness. Enjoy their decadently smooth coffee amongst their wares – the longer your eyes linger amongst the antiques, the more gems you’ll notice! Couldn’t help but get some beans to go: chocolate covered espresso beans, a pound of one of their light roasts, and a couple single-pot-sized samplers of their flavored coffee beans! They’ve been around since 1989 for a reason, folks! They’re the real deal!

A charming and unique spot with an impressive collection of antiques. It’s clear they have a loyal customer base — and it’s easy to see why. The coffee, lattes, and baked goods are all excellent.
What’s more, they offer their own line of coffee beans and even have a coffee club, which I’m definitely interested in exploring further. A delightful find worth revisiting.

This place is unique and chic. It opened in 1985; there are 80 varieties of coffee beans. Not only do they serve coffee, tea, and coffee beans, they also sell antiques. They roast their coffee beans right onsite since 1989. The employees were friendly and service was great.
They had so many flavors to choose from. The latte list was super extensive. I got my honey latte and it was perfection. We sat at one of the tables in the back and enjoyed our drinks and pastries; I got a cranberry scone and my son had a cookie. The flavors were fresh and the prices were super affordable compared to other coffee spots. This is definitely going to be my new go to coffee shop in terms of value and quality!

This is a place for premium coffee and tea! Plus, there are a variety of items for sale that you won’t find anywhere else: beautiful colored glass birds to hang in a window, kitchen towels, toys, glassware, etc. There are antiques in another room. So, you can run in and get the best coffee or tea, provided by the most friendly staff, or you can browse at the colorful items for sale.
I drive a half hour to buy their fantastic Coffee Trade coffee. It is delightful and comes in many flavors. The roasting of the beans are done right in the store….wonderful aroma!
During the holidays, they are open 7 days a week. Otherwise, they are open M-Sat. RTE 44, Avon.

The most comfy cozy spot. The feeling you get when you first see the Bilbo Baggins house in Fellowship of the Ring, that’s stepping into Coffee Trade. I showed up planning to buy a bag of coffee quickly and go, and now I regret that. I’ll have to come back ready to go at a slower pace and really take my time to enjoy the place.

I work not too far from here and often smell the beans roasting, but I never had the chance to stop in. Today, I visited for the first time, and I’m so glad I did. The owner was very kind and took the time to explain the different types of available coffee, even providing a sample based on my preferences. There are two rooms in the back where you can relax and enjoy your coffee while browsing antiques for sale. There is also an outdoor seating area. I got an iced dirty chai, which was excellent and perfectly sweet. This will be my new spot for coffee beans and a delicious drink. You can’t beat the prices, and there’s enough variety to keep everyone happy.

I have been going to the Coffee Trade for years. Aside from being outstanding people they have the best coffee around. They roast it in the shop and it’s always fresh. I like dark roast and their Mexican dark roast is my favorite. I also get French roast decaf and you can’t tell it’s decaffeinated by the flavor. They will grind your coffee any way you want it. Their prices are very reasonable especially considering the quality of the coffee.

The Coffee Trade on Main Street in Avon is a standout gem for coffee lovers! Their service is warm and knowledgeable—staff genuinely go above and beyond to help you find your perfect brew. What really sets them apart is the on-site roasting: step inside and you’re greeted by the inviting aroma of beans being roasted right then and there!
Their selection is incredibly impressive—over 70 bean varieties, spanning light, medium, and dark roasts—including creative flavors like the Highlander Grog and seasonal specials. Even locals rave that it’s “orders of magnitude better” than big chains. The shop’s cozy, antique-filled interior—even a back room perfect for reading or relaxing—adds so much character to each visit. ❤️
Whether you’re grabbing a to-go cup or purchasing beans to brew at home, the quality and freshness are consistently top-notch. Frequent customers praise the roasted-in-house Mexican dark roast and French roast decaf as some of the best around.
If you’re in the Farmington Valley, skip the big chains and head straight to The Coffee Trade—for outstanding coffee, welcoming community vibes, and an experience you’ll keep coming back for.

This is the best coffee place in Avon, CT. I love my Egg Nog latte during the season but will settle for Pistachio Latte off season. I’m addicted to this place and would not go anywhere else for my latte and I highly recommend it to everyone else.
