While not on the same level as the Texas giants, Austin’s is a good local spot. Theres no indoor dining, so that’s hurting them. The staff was friendly. I got brisket tacos, and they heated the tortillas on the pit prior to serving which gave them a smoky crispiness that added a nice dimension.

Overall above average, and I would stop again if passing through!

Never again. Dirty, run down, unsanitary place. BBQ has ZERO flavor. No selection. Employees ignore you. $25 for 1 person to get a main, 1 side and a drink. Do yourself a favor and get a fake Buc-ees BBQ sandwich, chips and a drink for a fraction of the cost. Hell, get some frozen meals from the dollar stores next door. Better yet, just keep driving.

Got a couple of dry, sliced fat sandwiches as we were passing thru the area. I’ve heard they had good sandwiches and they have mostly good reviews… our experience was not favorable. $10.95 for a sliced beef sandwich and they were inedible. I forced my dry, chewy sandwich down because I was really hungry but the wife wouldn’t even touch hers. Disappointed

Used to stop at Austin’s every week back when I used to haul gravel…so did all the other rock buckets, trucks parked everywhere. Back then they were only open Thur – Sat. Anyway, brisket, ribs, chicken, everything was always great. My goto was a sliced beef sandwich and 1/4 lb of ribs to eat on the go!

Review for Austin BBQ – Eagle Lake, Texas

I’ve supported Austin BBQ in Eagle Lake for a while, but my recent experience left me deeply disappointed. It’s troubling to see a business benefit from the hard work and revenue of immigrant customers, yet still allow openly disrespectful comments to be made—such as saying, “If he’s here illegally, he’s got to go.”

Regardless of anyone’s background, every customer deserves basic respect and decency. Hearing statements like that creates an unwelcoming atmosphere and makes it clear that not everyone is valued the same once they walk through those doors. I believe businesses should treat all members of the community fairly, especially when they rely on that same community for support.
I hope Austin BBQ reflects on how their words and actions impact the people who keep their doors open. Respect should be as much a part of the service industry as the food.

Austin’s BBQ and Catering is delicious. It’s more than a great joint, though. Austin’s remains a really important caterer to the local community; it consistently upholds its values of delicious meals locally prepared and timely delivered. Mr. Austin would be proud of Austin’s continued quality.

Caught them at the end of the day. The guys were awesome. The food was delicious and the service was great. You should DEFINITELY stop in and try their sausage. Yeah, I said it. Do it.

If I could put 1 star I would. Austin’s BBQ is a rip off bought a baked potato in a sandwich tray for $18 bucks and then had the audacity to ask the guy to weigh it and she forgot my sour cream. I’m so disappointed.

Ribs and brisket were drowning in sauce. The sauce covered up how dry and flavorless the meats were. The rice and macaroni salads need more Miracle Whip. Both were dry

28 a pound for sliced beef
fatty ends are hit or miss depending on what day you go
for 30 a pound you’d think they’d at least give you some bread and sauce; but they charge for both i think it’s like .50 per bread slice, and about 2 for the smallest sauce
