We visited the restaurant as we were attending an event and this place had late hours.

We were not impressed with the service. The place was empty (maybe that should be the first alert).

They brought chips and salsas, which were bland.

Food came well plated and same with beverages.

But the cinnamon used in horchata was not the right one, you want to use the woody/sweet cinnamon not the spicy one. That’s a basic of Mexican cuisine.

Sopes were mediocre. The only highlight was torta. But even all of this. The price is expensive for what you get… paying over 70 for two people (no alcohol no appetizers).

And then while we were there a guy just entered the washroom and left with no consumption (but he definitely did drugs as he came out high)…

Staff was rushing us even when they did not have anyone there.

This place is wayy too overpriced. I tried the fish tacos, the fish was really slimy and fatty. On the menu is says 2 corn tortillas but that’s just ONE taco wrapped in to corn tortillas so the wording is very confusing. It was $9 per taco, very bland as well. Also what is with the lime wedge? Can’t even get a full wedge.
As a Michigander I wanted to find good Mexican food in Windsor & this was very disappointing. Save your money & go else where!

Such a cute restaurant in the downtown core started with complimentary chips and dips that were amazing. Our waiter was very nice and friendly. The service was amazing and our food came quickly. The prices are also great!!

We loved this place! We recently found the location in Leamington and had dinner and it was so delicious! We actually found this location looking up the hours for the one in Leamington to return but so glad we got the chance to eat here too!! We each had the quesabirria and birria taco promotion where you get 3 tacos n a drink for $20 which were Soo good! ☺️ the chips and salsa are some of the best I’ve had in any Mexican restaurant. I especially enjoyed the selection of 4 different salsas served with the chips ranging in flavour and spice levels! I will definitely be back!!

Best tacos in Windsor. Since moving to Canada, finding a decent taco or just Mexican food in general has been rough. We entered this spot on whim without much expectation because we’ve been let down so often but we’re so glad we did.

Tried to get a photo of the 7 pork tacos + 2 drinks combo but started digging in before I did. Highly recommend this spot.

Very reasonably priced and delicious and authentic tacos. We had plenty of food for 3 people with drinks for $45.00. Restaurant has a surprisingly large seating area and friendly staff. The only reason I gave it 4/5 for atmosphere is that the air conditioning didn’t seem to be working and today was very hot!

Bummer, I really was looking forward to coming back. I have always been a huge fan of the Leamington location; so the moment this location opened – I ran over to eat with my friend. Boasting all the way there about how amazing this food is.
The whole experience was poor. I apologized to my friend & realized I probably should have waited until they settled in. ‘Growing pains’ new restaurant, bumps in the road Etc. I went again a few months later but me. But, I still looked forward to a future positive visit.
Its been quite a while. I just looked them up to go tonight ( I recently learned that you have to force select *most recent* ) to view actual reviews the last 6 months.
For the last two months; there is many one star reviews. Loyal customers, leaving.
Writing this review in hopes to get someone’s attention. Hopefully they can turn things back around. A good, delicious, authentic Mexican restaurant is something people want here.
Thank you. I don’t require a response

This is a FAR cry from the sister restaurant in Leamington. There’s no authenticity in the flavour at all. The only good thing was the service. The table sauces are completely different and lacking much of the heat. Tastes like colourful mayonnaise. I prefer the 45 to 50 minute drive to Leamington to experience the true authentic delicious taste of Mexico! Please bring the same to Windsor! Thanks.

My tacos were VERY good and fairly priced. My son’s burrito was 1 foot long and thick as a log. He said it was the best he’s ever had. Our server Daniella was really kind and helpful making sure we knew what we ordered. Very positive experience, congrats on an excellent Mex joint!

I’ve been going to Hot Tacos for months now, each time I am greeted warmly and treated like family. I get the Al-pastor tacos every time, and they never miss hitting the spot. The chef is kind enough to come out to say hello and ask how the food is, and occasionally adds a sample of delicious cheesecake. I can’t speak more highly of this place, my go-to. ❤️
