Welcome to The City Creamery! We are CLOSED for the 2024 season! We will see you May 2025! We pride ourselves in making the freshest small batched handmade Ice Cream, just like the good ol’ days using real cream, quality ingredients, rock salt + ice; 5 gallons at a time! We make all of our ice cream in shop, everyday, producing one of a kind flavors varying from traditional to unique. Currently we have three ice cream shops. Two in Montana; Virginia City and West Yellowstone and our newest shop is in Cave Creek, Arizona. We also have an ice cream truck that we take to festivals/concerts/special events and more! We are open seasonally in Montana (May- September) and year round in Arizona! We hope to see you at one of our locations soon!

I have been going to this place every year since I was a teenager, but the quality seems to have gone down. They icecream wasn’t very creamy, it was mostly ice chunks. It is also pretty expensive.

What delicious ice cream! Plenty of options from which to choose and a few I’d never seen before. For instance, Wedded Bliss, a vanilla with hot fudge, caramel, and chocolate-covered almond concoction that the proprietor developed for his own wedding. Or huckleberry, honey, and lavender. Between the 4 of us, we had 8 different flavors and everyone was happy!

Tip: there’s a great little patio in back! We sat back there and enjoyed the breeze.

My favorite ice cream comes from here. Green tea, honey and ginger. So delicious. It’s a cool shop with ice cream churned on site. Definitely worth stopping in for a scoop or ten.

We almost missed it since they try to close at 6pm…which would have been unfortunate.
