Formosa Taipei is a take out only spot for Taiwanese cuisine. The menu has a lot of options. The scallion pancakes were crispy and yummy. The sauteed string beans were cooked perfectly and the chicken with garlic sauce was delicious.
The service was friendly and efficient, and our food came out quickly. The space is very small with no seating area. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. Free parking is available.

Formosa Taipei is a stylish and welcoming spot with a great atmosphere that really captures a modern Taiwanese dining aesthetic. The service is attentive and warm, adding genuine hospitality to the experience. The food, however, is where it falls a little short — decent Taiwanese-inspired dishes but lacking the bold, authentic flavors you’d hope for from a restaurant with such a strong concept and name. With more depth and authenticity in the cooking, Formosa Taipei could be a truly standout destination.

I had a bad experience at Taipei Gourmet so gave this place a shot.
Overall it was pretty good with a few weird disappointments, mainly that the noodles for the lo mein and spicy beef noodle soup were very fettuccine-like…they were quite firm and not very tasty/appetizing compared to softer noodles.
The braised pork was very good but only had 5 pieces of meat.
The soup/juicy dumplings were also very good.

Ordered take out lunch specials today. The food was good but was surprised to see that 15% of tip was automatically added to the bill for my take out order. I didn’t notice it until I have picked up the food. I wish I was asked during the ordering process. #price

A lot of people on here hating on this restaurant. People saying it’s not “authentic”. Of course not, it’s American style Chinese food. People saying it’s a “money grab” expecting prices to always stay the same in spite of enormous rise in cost of product. People saying they ordered via 3P who takes a huge % of their overhead then stiff them on a tip on a huge order. You’re all entitled to your subjective opinion about flavor. What I witnessed was 2 hard working, dedicated people hand snipping green beans and saying they hand make dumplings and bao in a restaurant style where that level of quality absolutely is not to be expected.

We feel that this is very authentic. We love the dim sum menu. The mini juicy pork buns are the best. However, better to have does quick so as to no loose any juice.

This is a great spot with amazing food and quick preparation. It has been my go-to Chinese spot for the last few years and I don’t expect that to change anytime soon. One big detail: THERE IS NO SEATING, THIS IS TAKEOUT ONLY. The restaurant itself is simply a pickup counter, but don’t let that scare you off, the food is excellent! I would highly highly recommend the spicy minced chicken and the salt and pepper pork chops, unbelievably good.

The Food was not what was expected. They make up their own style dishes that look like leftovers. There are dishes on the menu that look nothing like what they are supposed to look like. Some dishes taste good, but when I tried to take back a dish that they had turned into a soup and it wasn’t on the soup side of the menu. I didn’t order a soup dish they just said too bad. Rude people, don’t expect anything back from the restaurant owners. They’re not about customers satisfaction …. Reminded me of the soup nazi in Seinfeld

Food is decent enough but the owners or management is all about a money grab. We ordered 4 apps and 3 mains and they charged us $11 for some rice, and had an attitude about it.
Avoid this place and spend your money at better places with better ownership.
