When this joint first soft opened back in last month I came several time to try out their various milk tea selections, was quiet impress with the overall taste and quality of the drinks, I can tell they really put good efforts in making the tea base that goes into the drinks, tea flavor is stronger and richer than other milk tea places in the PDX area for sure, so when they told me they fresh brew the tea in house each morning I am quite convinced it is the case. But I held off writing this review because I wanted to wait till I get to try the Malatang, which became available last week. My soup choice is the traditional malatang flavor, regular spicy. The ingredient selection on the shelves are similar to most other malatang places, this place definitely more fresh though, seems like they take effort to keeping the items fresh and well refrigerated, and very clean. As for the traditional malatang soup, yup it’s good, strong flavor in compare to other chain franchise stores, it has the authentic flavor I appreciate with taste of the homeland. Definitely will go back for other flavor of malatang and their wide variety of drinks to offer, I just touch the tip of the iceberg, also can keep track of their quality along the way and hope they can maintain it and keep it up.

This place is great. They use real tea and you can taste the difference. The owner and workers are very nice! This is authentic bubble tea and not just powder and water thrown together. So glad we have a good place for boba in town! Malatang is coming so as well.

The milk tea was so good and flavorful that I couldn’t help buying a few extra cups to go. The malatang was also really tasty, and adding sesame sauce made it smell and taste amazing.

I got the mulberry lemon tea and it’s absolutely delightful!!! The lady taking my order was helpful in recommending the drinks and letting me know if the modifications I was asking for would be good or not. I wanted it half sweet and I was recommending full sugar as the lemon would be too sour and I’m glad I listened it’s perfect as it is!!!

Came to refresh myself after having some spicy hot pot (Malatang) and ordered their signature lemon tea. The tea flavor is strong, with a delightful aroma of perfumed lemon. It tastes so refreshing, with the perfect balance of sweetness and sourness. The staff and owners were also very enthusiastic, and the drink was made quickly. I’ll definitely buy it again next time I pass by!

Terrible experience at Jiaocai across the board:
Food (1/5): The malatang tasted completely average. There were very few ingredients to choose from, and what they did have felt stale and unfresh.
Service (1/5): The ordering process was highly unprofessional and disorganized.
Atmosphere (1/5): The inside of the restaurant was a chaotic mess with no real management or order.
Overall, a complete waste of money. I strongly advise going somewhere else.

Food was below average, they also kinda soak all thing in water so it added weights, to me it felt a bit dishonest I hope they can fix it. Hopefully to see this place improving.
