I have driven by this place many times and saw they were doing restaurant week, so I decided to stop in. We walked in at 2pm and no one was at the front. We sat there for 12 minutes with no service and decided to get up and knock on doors around the restaurant to find anyone on staff. Eventually a server came out and she was happy to help us. A man walked in after us and the same thing happened to him, and after 10 minutes he started to wonder and then found a bell to ring.

Once we had ordered, our food was quick to come out and had good flavor. The server was very attentive and asked if I had eaten fufu before wanting to help me enjoy it if I hadn’t.

Overall the food was good. The service was fine once we got someone to come out from the back, but for restaurant week there was no savings. It was $20 whether I did the meal alone or chose the same meal on the restaurant week menu.

First time trying African food and it was amazing!!! Definitely a must try! We ordered 3 different types of egusi soup and fufu (beef, vegan, okra) fried red snapper fish, wings, and jollof rice. The food was well seasoned, flavorful, the customer service was attentive, nice, and quick. Would come back here again to try more items on menu.

Teetasty is a small cafe in a strip mall on Southwest Trafficway serving Nigerian and African cuisine.

We stopped in to try it for dinner the other night.

We tried the Vegetarian Plate, Jollof rice with fried plantains and spinach, it was also topped with a slightly spicy tomato based sauce which added some depth and rounded things out. The rice has a surprisingly strong almost smokey flavor, but balanced out nicely with all of the other components.

The Vegan Egusi Soup with Fufu was interesting to try, not my favorite dish but it was pretty good and I think the SO enjoyed it. The flavor was fairly mild and slightly salty. The Fufu that it came with was a large ball which you tear off a ball and squish it into a scoop shape to eat the soup. A little different dining experience. It was soft, but not unpleasantly so.

We also tried their house made Zobo drink, which was hibiscus, ginger, cloves, and pineapple. It was strong and pretty tasty, I wouldn’t have thought cloves would work on a fruity drink like that but it was pretty good.

As well as the bottled Maltina, which was a malt drink with very strong overtones of molasses. The SO loved it, I thought it was interesting to try but a bit too much like drinking molasses.

The service is table service, but seems a bit like a cafe that you should walk up to … Their service was friendly and helpful.

The atmosphere was pleasant if not anything fancy. A little oddly decorated with everything hung extremely high up the walls. Various cultural art work, mostly of people.

Me and my husband came here today, i saw a bunch of videos about this place and thought it looked so good. I got the egusi soup, and my husband got the jollof rice with chicken.

When we went in we were not greeted, we got our menus and sat down, after 10 minutes we got to order our drinks, it was just canned soda, and that took 15 minutes to get. Then we ordered our food, we got there at 3:35pm, i did not get my soup until 4:40. My husbands food did not come out at the same time, and i did not touch my food until he got his, we had to ask the waitress where his food is because it was 5pm at this point. She said she’s so sorry and she went in the back and brought his food right out so it was clearly sitting there for who knows how long. Very upsetting experience. From the time we got there to the time we left, there was 3 other parties who came in, sat down, ordered, and got there food before we did.

I ordered on DoorDash for pickup for the first time. Food was done on time. Customer service was good. Food was okay. My meat was still hard/rubbery (hardly enjoyable). Egusi was a little watery and less flavored compared to what I’m used to. I prefer my egusi soup rich with flavor and meet tender. It was worth trying but I will not purchase again.

We went here to celebrate my sister’s birthday and we had an amazing time. The customer service was excellent and the menu is vast. I am a very picky eater so I only ordered the meat pie and the beef samosas. Both were delicious but the beef samosas were my favorite. Everyone else enjoyed their food and drinks as well. I would definitely go back. The prices were reasonable as well

The bitterleaf soup was so good . It reminded me so much of home. You should definitely give it a try if you like Nigerian Igbo soups. I enjoyed it.
I have also tried their Abula (Amala, gbegiri and ewedu) Seafood Okra, efo riro and Egusi soup before and they all tasted good.
To be honest, price is a bit on the high side, but the meal is very decent. Easily one of the best african (esp Nigerian) restaurants you can find in Kansas.
Service is 4 stars because you will wait a while, and its understandable as there are not many servers on ground (the times I’ve been there)

Visiting from California, I went here with my SFL. Let me start with we came in through a back door. After seating ourselves we had to request the music (that is advertised) be turned on. Our server was very pleasant. We ordered the mini platter, which was good aside from the over cooked shrimp, the whole tilapia meal to which the fish texture was almost slimy, not a good fresh fish, plantain was hard, the jolloff rice taste like colored white rice that had been cooked on a grill, very smokey, puff puff with caramel drizzle was quite tasty, the zobo drink was very nice, but the egusi soup with chicken and swallow… the worst thing I ever put in my mouth. It taste like they got this dish straight from a septic tank. I truly do not know how they are in business let alone have 4.5 stars. They must be writing their own reviews. The food and safety administration should really follow up at this place and test that soup.
I have had plenty of African food and this makes me want to deny my Nigerian (African) heritage and my SFL doesn’t even want to go to Africa anymore after eating here.

Not gonna lie, I never understood why Yuta was just chilling in Africa while his homies were getting slimed in Shibuya. After eating here, it all makes sense. My buddy and I came here for restaurant week and ordered the lamb chops suya and one of the fufu dishes. I could not believe how good both tasted. There was so much flavor in the spices and everything was cooked to perfection. This was my first time eating food like this and I will definitely be coming back. I will also add that the staff was very friendly and helpful. They explained each dish and the proper way to eat it. If you’re by midtown/Westport, you have to stop by here.
