Food was fair. Everyone in our party of 4 were more than happy with their meals. I’m difficult. My risotto and scallops dish was bland, needed a punch. Maybe a bit of lemon…
Anyway perhaps if i had ordered something else i would have given 5 ☆’s.
The Caesar salad was interesting and delicious. Fish and chips are up there with the best of them.
Try some of their cocktails. You won’t be disappointed.
It was a bit noisy at lunchtime but quieted down as patrons went back to work.
The place was somewhat busy but wasn’t packed. I found parking right in front of the restaurant. This was a good sign.
Dimly lit the restaurant had a rustic feel. Music was playing in the background. Little did I know that the ambiance was set for an epic meal which was about to begin.
We ordered: short ribs, crusted iceland cod and for the kids; chicken nuggets and burger and fries.
The short rib was so tender, and loaded with rich marbling and full of flavour. The chimichurri sauce and marinated shallots paired nicely with the beefy flavour of the short rib, adding a fresh and bright taste to the overall A+ dish. It was thoughtful of them to ensure the dish had a healthy starch and veggies (mashed sweet potatoes, and glazed carrots)
The aroma of the pine nut butter and burnt oranges infused well with the light flavour profile of the Iceland cod.
At first we didn’t expect this restaurant to cater to kids as the menu does not have a kids section. Fortunately we were wrong. They do have meal options for kids.
When most restaurants cook for kids, the food is bland and terrible. Not at Bidon.
The kids meals were actually very good!The burger was so moist and juicy. The chicken nuggets were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The fries were crispy and lightly salted. The kids really enjoyed their meals.
The CHOCOLATE FONDANT with salted caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream was rich, luxurious, fat-filled, highly caloric and possibly downright bad for me. But it was sooo good.
Awesome service. Epic meal.
