A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

The food was disguising for the most part.
I ate a few shrimps and the hush puppies.
The coleslaw was sour and disgusting.
The fries were cold.
The fish taste like Gordon’s frozen fish.
The tater sauce was nasty even White Castle tater sauce taste better than this one.
I would not recommend at all.
I’m upset I waste money on this nasty food.
Please don’t waste your money.

My first experience was “ok.” They just opened so I’ll Give it a chance. However, I feel like the manager and the cashier were “cordial” because another manager was there (possibly helping them get established). I sincerely hope they bring pleasant costumer service. It matters. So The food was ready fast. I ordered the 2 piece fish and 2 peice chicken. The chicken is very small. I Love the fish and coleslaw. I could take or leave the hush puppies (not good at all) and French fries. I will be back. Good luck I hope the restaurant does well.

Staff was friendly and courteous. We got the large chicken sandwich combo and butterfly shrimp. Everything was crispy and fresh. The food was pretty good for the price. I would definitely recommend the hot sauce if you’re looking for more seasoning or a nice kick.

I live a 5 minute walk away and the food was cold by the time I got home. The broccoli was the only thing that was hot. I should’ve known it wasn’t cooked well enough because the food was done too fast. I was very excited to try Captain D’s but won’t be going back even though the manager is nice. I’ve never eaten a hush puppy in my life, I did for the first time today and it was nasty. My stomach has been feeling weird since I had it earlier, I have a feeling this is frozen food they just drop in a fryer. It wasn’t seasoned with anything at all, the only good thing was the tartar sauce.

Took off a star because I actually like how the stuff were seasoned when lived in Summerville SC. They had egg in them, and just very tasty. I was looking forward to it tasting like I remembered eating them 4 years ago in SC when ordered today from here. I’ll try the food again but kind of disappointed. Also hush puppies were okay I also liked them when was in SC. Not sure if they are altered to halal way. Most the workers seemed to be Muslim and possibly Indian. I say this also because large community of Muslim all straight from Gunhill Road in Mosholu Pkwy section.

Captain D’s has to be the best fried fish you can get, and the franchise expanding up north is a dream come true.
However, they’re not getting it right, something is just off about it, seems like everything is under-fried and edging on under cooked. I think the southern employees need to fly back up and get the place right again.

Horrible ! It’s horrible pre-cook refried frozen food hot on the outside warm on the inside. No flavor, shrimps limp inside a crispy bland no seasoning batter . I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING OUT OF THERE AGAIN. I really liked their hush puppies and the food is good the only thing is I don’t like that they don’t give a larger portion of fries and the pieces of fish is small but besides that the food tasted good and the sauce also was good
