I cannot say enough amazing words about Carol and Mayflowers! We are always blown away by the quality of food and great prices from this seemingly hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant! I always get the crab rangoons (HIGHLY recommend) and my husband always gets the hot and sour soup with our entrees. If you haven’t been to Mayflowers, make it a point to change that! Country atmosphere. Sit down or carry out. I’ve been here twice now over a few years while in town. Great food. For $3 more than fast food, you’ll get better food. Ive tried fried rice and General Tso’s meal with white rice and veggies. All very good. The veggies have a little bit of rice noodles with it, broccoli, cabbage. Will definitely go back.

This place is good for a nice meal with family and friends. I got the garlic chicken with egg drop soup. The portions were pretty big. The hostess/server did a good job on service. The inside is ok. Definitely not new. The egg roll was nice and crispy.i would have liked some sauces for it but all we got was soy. I would go back again.

I’ve been meaning to visit this place for some time. It’s even in walking distance of my house. I am so sad that I waited as long as I did.
Mayflowers is a very sweet and quaint place. Even the music is relaxing and gives the place a special atmosphere. It’s also very clean and inviting.
The food is very impressive. The eggrolls are phenomenal. So fresh and delicious!!
Our meals were also so wonderful, and we all raved about it while we ate.
The owner served us. She is so nice and sweet! It is easy to tell she has pride in her restaurant and in her recipes, and rightfully so. This was only my first visit, but I will DEFINITELY go back.

I’m so glad there is a nice Chinese restaurant here in uptown Urbana. I stopped in here for lunch around noon. I ordered the hot & spicy princess chicken along with an egg roll. That was a GREAT choice. The food was very hot, fresh, and delicious. I loved the crunchy, fresh egg roll with the sweet & sour sauce. As a bonus I ordered a small bottle of sake to go. I love this restaurant and will return soon for a nice Chinese dinner. ❤️

The best Chinese Food I have ever had! The egg roll just went on and on after swallowed. The dinners my husband and I had both were so packed with flavor that they too went on and on forever! I would be so fat if I worked here because I would literally never stop eating. The best steak, the best shrimp and it really doesn’t matter what seasoning/plate you choose— you cannot go wrong at the Mayflower. Definitely coming back!

Mayflowers is one of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve ever been to, even having lived near Chinatown in NYC for many years. It also has to be in the running for the best restaurant overall in Urbana. Particularly tasty are the wonton soup and Shrimp Lover’s Delight. Great spot for American-style Chinese food that sticks closely to authentic Chinese flavors and quality. Love the owner (Carol). Can’t recommend highly enough!

Don’t really have a dining experience because after checking online to verify their hours and the site saying they were open, I drove 20 minutes to find a note on the door, where it does so much good, that says “Vacation!! Vacation!!”… fir a month! So I don’t know if their food is actually good or not.

The lady that runs the place is extremely rude. She talked to me on the phone rude and then when a friend of mine went to pick up the order, he needed to transfer money to pay for it because there was a random fee to use a card. She refused to wait for him to move money and took our crab rangoon out of the bag and wouldn’t let him move money to pay for it. The chicken is terrible. It’s burnt and dry with no flavor. I will never eat there again. Save yourself the headache and go to Great Wall.
