This has easily slid into my top sushi places of all time. Highly recommend the Blue Fin Burrata, the Simon Roll, & finishing it with the Shio Koji ice cream i mean everything we had was delicious, including the wagyu sushi. But everything listed before was highly recommended by our waiter, Daniel and everything blew us away. Impeccable service & the atmosphere was perfect. Drove by this place so many times & finally convinced my partner to try it and I almost wish it stayed a mystery so I never crave it like I do now. Give me any excuse to come back: a birthday, a bad day, a Monday… any reason and I’ll be back and reorder it all

A friend saw this place on a IG reel, and we decided to ditch our favorite sushi place that we have been going to for over 15 years to try Akami Sushi. I was surprised at how many times ive driven by this place and never noticed it. Parking is very limited but its in a safe neighborhood so street parking is no big deal. We order the Yellow tail carpaccio 10/10, blossom roll 9/10, albacore onion roll 10/10, arcadia roll 8/10, Mentaiko Mazemen to share 10/10 this one i definitely recommend sharing because its so flavorful and rich it might get overwhelming to eat it all by yourself. And for dessert we got the Shio Koji ice cream also 10/10. I will say that I felt it was a bit pricey, but I also understand the current situation of the country. This place will definitely be a “let’s get a treat” place for us.

Top tier sushi experience. They have limited seating in a confined interior, so there will be a long wait during weekends. I waited 45 minutes on Saturday night but it was worth the wait. The sushi premium set was filled with lots of high quality options and perfect for variety and quite filling. Staff are all very friendly and the interior is beautiful and clean.

We had a nice dinner at Akami Sushi. The ambiance was peaceful and clean, with beautifully presented dishes and fresh ingredients throughout the meal. The special rolls were delicious and creative, and the tempura was light and crispy — not greasy at all.
That said, a few things held it back from being a full 5-star experience:
We ordered the Premium Sashimi Set, but the cuts didn’t really feel premium — they looked and tasted more like a regular sashimi plate in both size and quality.
The uni was fresh, but $21 for just 2 pieces felt pretty steep, even for good quality.
Overall, still a solid experience with fresh seafood and friendly service, but the pricing felt a bit high for what we received. Worth visiting if you’re looking for a quiet sushi dinner, just be mindful of the value.

The food and service was wonderful. This reminds me of sushi-gen sushi/sashimi set. It’s plenty of food and you will be full.
The mentaiko mazmen (noodles with cod roe sauce and truffle oil) this dish was amazing . I would come back just for this but the sashimi was so good too. The spicy tuna and crispy rice is a must get app. We ended our meal the shio ice cream and matcha cream brûlée. The shio was so good but the matcha was a little watery.
The reason I can’t give the service a 5 star is because there were plenty of tables and we didn’t get seated for a party of 3 until the 3rd person came.
The parking was a small lot but you could find street parking.
The ambiance is clean and background music was soft so you don’t have to talk over it.
Definitely will come back and recommend this place to my friends/family.

Went on a Friday night around 6:30pm. They have a waitlist you can join, so the wait wasn’t too long. The place is small, so I would suggest to get there early.
We ordered a bunch of things to share. Their black cod entree is amazing. Stand out specialty roll was the lemon roll. Everything we had was fresh. My favorite is the hotate (scallop) sushi. It was perfect.

This place is a diamond in the rough, by which I mean it is situated in an unassuming strip mall, yet with some of the highest quality sushi I have had in decades. They boast an extensive specialty menu with fish selections not found at most sushi restaurants in LA, and even though I arrived right before closing (well, after a 30-minute wait on a Wed. night) and could only experience a taste of what they had to offer, it was clear that this was a place to watch out for, not just another social media trend. Props to the chefs, their attention to detail, and the undeniable quality of their product. Will definitely return.
P.S. don’t let the location fool you, this is definitely a higher-end restaurant in terms of price–but they have the quality to match.

Came in on a Tuesday night for dinner with a friend. We didn’t make a reservation, but luckily didn’t need one; only a few tables were occupied when we arrived. The space is small, cute, and gives off intimate vibes. It’s located in a small corner plaza with limited parking in the front, but there’s also parking in the back. I personally parked on the street with no issues.

• Bluefin Tuna Burrata
• Mentaiko Mazemen
• Salmon Roll (classic)
• Baked Crab Salmon Roll
• Red Dragon Roll
• Matcha Lychee Highball
• Shio Koji Homemade Ice Cream
Everything was delicious, but my top favorites were the Bluefin Tuna Burrata, Mentaiko Mazemen, Baked Crab Salmon Roll, Matcha Lychee Highball, and the Shio Koji Ice Cream. I would absolutely order all of these again.
The Bluefin Tuna Burrata was surprisingly amazing. You don’t usually think of pairing fish with cheese, but this worked beautifully; rich, fresh, and perfectly balanced. You have to try it.
The Mentaiko Mazemen had the perfect creamy, umami flavor and was constantly craving it. I couldn’t stop thinking about it even after the meal.
The Baked Crab Salmon Roll is not your typical baked roll. It felt like a cleaner, more elegant take, not overly creamy or heavy. The components were separated into pieces, which I really appreciated, and it made the roll feel more refined.
The Matcha Lychee Highball was light, refreshing, and perfectly sweet, super easy to drink. I’ll definitely be trying a different cocktail next time.
For dessert, the Homemade Shio Koji Ice Cream was so unique and creamy, with crispy rice puffs on top that added a nice texture. A great way to end the meal.
Overall, the quality of the food and fish was fresh, well executed, and unique in flavor. This visit definitely made me excited to come back and try more of the menu.
