Walked in on a Safurday evening and were seated and served pretty quickly. I liked the atmosphere, not too cozy, but simple and nice. TVs were playing Inuyasha without sound. Good millennial music was playing. Service was good/adequate. Pan-fried gyozas were good with semi-spicy sauce on the side (they could’ve been pan-fried a bit more). Shrimp Lovers Roll and El Bazukazo rolls were good too. Would definitely go back.

So excited to have a new sushi spot in the neighborhood! This location is way more spacious than their sister restaurant up the road.

The yakisoba was delicious and not overly saucy how some are. I loved the seaward salad, gyoza and crunchy roll! Everything was fresh and delicious! Service was friendly and great and our family has already been back since our first visit.

Great vibe and great food! I would definitely recommend!

It’s located in a shopping strip that has parking but it can be a little tight.

Prices were affordable. Service was attentive and quick. Food were subpar, though. The menu seemed promising but the taste didn’t deliver well for us.

We had the following:
• raw oysters topped with tobiko and ponzu – good but had a fishy after taste
• U.S. wagyu&uni nigiri – Yes, I know it’s not A5 wagyu but it was the worse type of beef used. It looked and tasted like the beef that would be used for yakiniku. And the uni looked like one piece split in half for the order. The uni was also of low quality.
• ama-ebi nigiri with deep fried heads – not as sweet of a taste
• Yorimichi roll – good and presented nicely
• salmon roll – basic but thicker cut of salmon would be nice (looks ok in my picture but definitely not as full looking in person)
• chirashi bowl – A variety of sashimi on a bed of sushi rice. I wish it was Hokkaido scallops instead of baby scallops that’s usually served in poke bowls or fried rice. Unfortunately, as I was about to finish and picked up the shrimp head, there was a piece of hair that was fried with it. Gross but it was at the end of my meal. I chose not to bring it to their attention, per my guest’s request. Management, if you’re reading this review, I hope you review the kitchen staff’s proper hair safety rules with your team to prevent another mishap with another order.

My wife and I live in the neighborhood and was pleased to see a sushi restaurant open closeby. We went for Happy Hour and everything was delicious. $5 Sapporo drafts, house hot sake, edamame, among other signature Sushi specials for Happy Hour. I ordered the Birria Ramen on the happy hour menu and it was amazing. The rolls were very hearty and appetizing. Service was good. The dining area is rather small, but comfortable with booths and tables. I notice they also have a small sushi bar area. Nice ambience, clean, will definitely be going back. Parking can be challenging considering it’s in a packed strip mall with other businesses. We walked.

I really wanted to like this place–unfortunately, the food was basically inedible so I won’t be returning.

The pro’s: kid-friendly booths, affordable prices

The con’s: We ordered standard items that every Japanese restaurant should deliver on: pork katsu curry and udon. The curry was VERY SPICY (Japanese-style curry is rarely spicy) and the dashi (fish soup base) flavor in the udon broth was so over-powering.

I mentioned that the curry was spicy to 2 servers–both just shrugged their shoulders and said “well, that’s how it is.” Neither offered to take it off our bill or replace it with something else. After getting that reaction, we didn’t even bother to mention that the udon wasn’t good–although the servers should have noticed that it wasn’t touched.

SO glad this opened in the neighborhood. Needed a convenient and delicious sushi spot, and this is it! 2nd location, first one is in Linda Vista – Japanese owners very authentic! Price to quality ratio is top notch, sushi is delicious!!

Was so excited to have a Japanese restaurant close by that I’ve gone 4 time over the past 10 days. Every single time the food has been great, affordable prices, fast service, and overall wonderful experience. I will be frequenting quite often.

Wonderful Japanese fare. Small but cool atmosphere. Great for takeout or dining-in at the sushi bar or tables. Cool vending machines!

So disappointed in the food and service here. Have been twice. Now that thet are busy, the rice is hard and cold and the fish is subpar. So sad because I loved the original restaurant.
