(Edit) The owner is such a great guy, very attentive to customer needs- loved chatting with him. Food was 10/10 sushi was presented very well!! My new favourite sushi place in Kamloops!
~ I went back to try more items and was not disappointed at all!
Didn’t think anything was going to top the Mango Avocado Roll but then I tried the Crazy Vegetable Roll and boy was it good! The chef really does put a lot of effort in his ‘art’, I couldn’t stop taking photos of the plate. Also the size of the roll was massive I could barely eat in a single bite. For dessert the chef suggested the Sunshine Roll and it was so tasty omg
Food quality is top tier and I will be going back for more!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Nishino Sushi in the Westsyde! Not only is their sushi consistently amazing, but they went above and beyond for me and my pup. When I popped in to pick up my order, they didn’t even bat an eye at letting my dog in—just asked if she was a service dog and were so kind about it. That kind of welcoming vibe was incredible. Plus, they actually crafted a special roll just for me with exactly the ingredients I was craving. It was such a personal and delightful touch. This place never, ever disappoints. Five stars all the way!

We have been to Nishino many times over the past few years, and our recent visit was the best sushi to date. We heard it was under new mgt so thought we would visit again as service and food had slid a bit the last couple years – much due to covid impacts.
We prefer dining in the restaurant vs. takeout as the food just tastes better when straight from the kitchen. There are a number of new items on the menu and we always get the sushi dishes. The quality of the sushi was excellent, very fresh and tasty, and rates right up there with the other top places in Kamloops. Food delivery from order to table was very quick despite competing with many takeout orders. The chef/owner (Josh?) is very friendly and came out and chatted with us for a bit. He shared his other menu changes such as including new Korean dishes and other influences. He also mentioned “special/unique” dishes that we could call ahead for i.e. a day or 2 that require added prep time if we wanted to try something different.
The young lad serving us did a great job. We were the only ones in at the time (late afternoon) so he was hustling double duty with our table and constant takeout orders. The decor remains unchanged but great to dine in again, and would be good to see this build up to what it was in support of a great local spot. Will be regulars again!
ps – waited a bit too long to take the sushi pic….food went too fast.

Didn’t get soy sauce in my take out order.
Sushi needs soy sauce.
Owner said he would take care of my next order. Next order ,he didn’t follow through.
I let it go n fast forward a few visited later. I m eating a salmon roll piece that had a bone in it.
I it got lodge in my gum.
I mentioned this to owner only to get
1st there’s no bones in the Salmon.
2nd sorry we ll make sure it’s de boned properly.
I don’t get how one min there bone.
Then we ll do better?

Crappy service. Order a California roll like every other time and as soon as I grab one with chopsticks they fall apart. Called asking for a refund and they tell me yup so I come back in and they insist on remaking it. Well hopefully they don’t fall apart again. The original owners from 2015-2016 they were amazing. Always made the food great service was always with a smile and never got any death stares when you walk in getting stared at like you interrupted dinner.

I have been going to this place for 15 years. Recently they have messed up orders or forgotten things and all they have said was enjoy. Its a luxury for me to order out and when I do I hope to get what I ordered. But lately never have. All i get is sorry too bad enjoy the food we gave you that you dont like , allergic to and never ordered. Poor customer service if you ask me. I think the owners great but i will order here again id its the customers fault for when staff messes up an order and never takes accountability.
